    “ let’s all email him “

You don’t buy his art but he should dictate how he makes art around you ?

    Shut the f*** up man

Well I emailed and asked to cancel my order for the vinyl and it went through. I do understand AI's ability to be used as a tool but I do not want to support generative AI

I do make art, I keep my personal life and KTT2 separate, the idea of having a machine think for me is counter to the entire concept of art as human self-expression.

You're acting like creating a mood board is some absurd task, throughout the entire history of art, people have thought of their own ideas and acted upon them, it's not like writing 500 books by hand, it's thinking, if I'm ever at a stage where my brain is so atrophied that I have to ask an AI for new ideas, just shoot me.

The difficulty of refining prompts until the desired generative AI result appears doesn't suddenly rob the end result of its inhuman character. This is a philosophical argument, I know what generative AI can do, it's incredibly good at it, even when people were mocking 30-fingered hallucinations I knew they'd be eating their words soon enough, it's something that will only get better and better.

If you view art as solely product, then you could see the appeal of a future where everyone can watch their own personalised movies, enter prompts into The Art Machine for pictures to hang on their walls, and listen to music that no longer requires real singers or songwriters. If you care about art as human self-expression, the leverage of our physical and mental skills to give voice to human thoughts and feelings, AI-generated art is a disgrace, it's the ultimate realisation of art as product, art for people who don't care about art.

Again you can’t just change things to what you want them to be. “Mood boards aren’t some absurd task” is like…your opinion dude…lmao midjourney is doing damn mear movie studio level concept art depending on how you work it

or the idea of the vague concept of using AI for concepts and brainstorming =/= asking AI for ideas. Lmaoo nigga hop off the internet bandwagon and accept that you can’t predict or corner every possible use of AI as some “art thievery” s***

  • MiniVan

generative ai models are trained on stolen art work this has been proven so many times

so there's a threat for great artists, a robot s***ting out art work in seconds based on work they spent years of their lives on, stolen entirely based on the high quality of their work, if they pivot to a new style, the robot steals it again, now what ?

Someone like Future and Lex Luger already have had this happen to them 100x over under the guise of “trend”

  • I feel like the A.I debate isn't as black and white as people make it. It really all depends on how you use it, but it can definitely be a great tool for the creative process.

Using A.I for stem seperation is like a huge time saver compared to how it used to be done.

Even with gen A.I u can still use it in a creative way

Misquoting and removing context is human error

    Impersonations are for comedic effect

Again, these things have absolutely nothing to do with someone going to an AI generator and typing “make me a Justin Bieber diss track against Bruno Mars and put Lady Gaga’s vocals on the hook”

It’s dangerous when the technology is advancing so rapidly that it’s becoming harder and harder to spot the difference and point out what’s real and what isn’t

There’s an entire debate if Playboi Carti is actually even on one of the biggest songs in the country right now

You’re using made up scenarios to explain why you should live in fear, but propaganda is not human error it’s on purpose

Impersonations can be used for nefarious purposes, just like AI has been used for comedic effect

I’m never gonna be worried about a Justin Bieber diss track or a playboi Carti feature, it’s meaningless vapid pop bullshit

The racism angle (that you compared to kids being killed) had at least something to stand on but worrying about whether a rapper used their actual voice or not while the verse could’ve been written without their involvement whatsoever anyway is pointless, Milli Vanilli in the 80s bamboozled the public more than this bullshit ever will

There is literally nothing original about any of AI’s capabilities though its whole catalogue is built on using other people’s previous work

If it makes “movie studio level concept art” that sounds like an indictment on the predictable garbage put out by a lot of big movie studios in the 21st century

It’s amazing how they wanna bat and be obtuse about A.I and the value of art itself because their boy toy Kanye used it for his music

Sincerely not an original thought in any of these people’s heads

  • Toadie

I wonder if it’s partly because nobody watches music videos anymore

Lithonia video was a complete flop and it's disappointing that shock ending didn't lead to anything

Little Foot Big Foot video was actually cool but he still ruined that song with the Nudy beat switch

because its impossible for them to hire artist that consensually train the AI the way that Lupe did for Google AI rapping Text FX thing? Lol

Y’all have determined that its only one thing and don’t want to accept any logical information that its potentially anything else lmao

The hilarious thing is that most of these services won’t even let you put in specific branded/copyrighted names to generate something derivative. you can only describe s***. And if someone is using midjourney for art concepts its not like they would have hired an actual team to do that (and an actual movie studio still has to hire a team to do that s***) Lmao its an extension of like pinterest. But the more fascinating thing here is how y’all have inverted into “the timeline” functioning like NBC functioned on our parents where you just go with what other people tell you. Niggas critical thinking is cooked lol

How do you get that, I am definitely devaluing popular consumerist bullshit over what to me is important work, David Lynch’s films are NEVER at risk of being copied by AI, an AI model could never come up with a Todd Solondz script

It can come up with whatever realistic sounding slop you want but actually important work is safe and not going to be made by AI

Has nothing to do with Kanye its just weird to see people put their heads in the sand about something that literally just isnt fundamentally what you think it is because the timeline told you to be mad about it. Before we even get into the idea of them scraping Google/Pinterest being relatively harmless even if thats what they were doing, most of these services wont even let you “prompt” your way into just copying peoples s*** lol

AI could absolutely imitate Lynch if you gave it what stylistic things to go for but the only way for it to not swallow real artists is for it to be adopted into their workflow or a mandatory AI advisory label on any AI created art which will never get adopted by big corporations worried about PR with all this performative anger about it. Lmaoo you niggas are so stupid!

I never once said to devalue art I said that meaningless pop bullshit has been served up to the masses for decades and I’m not moved by a computer attempting to do it, especially when all the pop industry has pushed for is devaluing art itself anyway

I want more funding and support for real artists that have been underfunded before AI became a thing before I give a s*** about Bieber and Carti

If people are using A.I simply to sketch out ideas and as a sort of mood board in the vein of Pinterest as you’re saying, I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s using it as a sound board, however dismissing Carti’s feature on Timeless being A.I and then saying Milli Vanilli was more deceptive than anything A.I could (or can) do is just mind-boggling stupidity that should warrant forced sterilization if I’m being really honest

Yeah I personally wouldnt do the AI vocal dubbing and that part is def kinda lame but I see how that ship has already sailed when you consider the writing team type s*** Ye and Drake already do. Its just one more step towards artist being like Nike or Apple moreso than actual people expressing themselves

  • thuggerthugger1

Yeah meaningless pop bullshit made by human beings and meaningless pop bullshit made by a computer has absolutely no differences between it at all

It has a difference but why should I care when real artists are already being devalued, do you really think it’s a travesty if a fake Justin Bieber song comes out when a documentary about the genocide and apartheid in Palestine doesn’t get distribution in America?

You could say “we can care about two things at the same time” and I’d respect that but I’m not so wet behind the ears and naive that I think everything was perfect until AI became a thing

  • insertcoolnamehere

Now when it comes to using artists voices, I DO think, if you gon use a nigga likeness, they gotta get paid

People choose certain voices for a reason, that reason should allow the ppl you using to get their due

It’s why folks was mad at Taylor Made @inspoeater , using a dead black artist voice to say things they may not have ever said just… rubs me the wrong way. Gives me the heebie jeebies.

Like a future where white artists could potentially get away with slurring it up while using a black vocal filter or we have an AI rapper scandal like last year? I dont really like that.

    yup

Lmaoo you niggas are so stupid!

You completely miss the point of David Lynch’s work if you think the style is the only distinct thing about it, the scriptwriting could NEVER be imitated by AI

An AI model could for sure conjure up many visuals akin to what you see in Lynch’s work but it could never effectively or meaningfully come up with the script for Inland Empire or Mulholland Drive
