No states live in a vacuum, you were begging the question because there is no such thing as a communist state. Like I said previously, there are things that we must be critical of in regards to China in the modern era, they are moving on from the so-called “Dengist” road you seem to be critical of, but this is our generations “Iraq has Weapons of Mass Destruction” in terms of US manufacturing consent for a new war against socialism.

There's no such thing as a Communist state in the sense of that society being the endgoal of Marxists, but the other definition of "Communist" is whether a state or movement is on its way to becoming that endgoal of a stateless and classless society. And you would need to do a lot of mental gymnastics to say that China is doing that.

And I disagree, it's clear that Uighurs are being oppressed on a massive scale. Are some claims from faulty NED-funded sources and should we be skeptical of those sources? For sure, but those aren't the only sources anymore.

I don't know whether you can speak of genocide right now, I'm agnostic to those claims due to a lack of unbiased sources on that, so I just don't know.

But the one thing that's for certain is that a very large amount of Uighurs are being detained for no other reason than that they're part of an ethnic group of which some had taken part in terrorist activities, and that's already a crime against humanity in itself.

Like those leaked files from the Chinese state should tell you enough about whether Uighurs are being oppressed or not.

The reality is that you know as much as I know as what’s going in China, the only thing I feel is that we should question the credibility of sources that are discussing a “persecution of Uygher lives”.

But the fact that Uighurs are being detained simply for being Uighurs has been documented now. They are being persecuted, that doesn't necessarily mean that China is committing a "demographic genocide", but Uighurs are definitely being oppressed right now that's obvious.

Show me an article that uses this language and I guarantee you it’s US-backed, and for that reason it’s a source that you must be critical and be skeptical of it’s credibility.

That's because only US-backed sources have done any serious studies on this, there aren't any studies that disprove any of these claims either.

But there are countless individual reports of people being unjustly detained now, and there are Chinese state documents that have been leaked about Uighur students being told that their behavior will in part determine whether their family members will be freed. If that doesn't convince you that these people are being unjustly detained I don't know what will.

Xi himself said that the way the West deals with terrorism domestically is flawed because they "put human rights over security". Implying that China's approach won't make the same "mistake" of valuing human rights in their own fight against terrorism.

Funnily enough Xi has also compared this campaign in Xinjiang to America's war on terror... I just don't see how you could possibly say that Uighurs don't face any oppression now in China.
