Moved here 6 weeks ago or so for the school year. Great place that could never be explored enough. Every city/region is its own world
Hoping to make it there (Chongqing) next month but it's really just a unique to itself. There's no other examples of Chinese (or any) cities like this. It's basically a city on a mountain that had to be built upwards.
are you eating good restaurants wise? random question dont mean anything by it
how’s dealing with the chinese beaurcracy and wechat as a foreigner i hear it’s a pain in the ass 90% of the time
Bureaucracy can be annoying and tedious sometimes but i'm over much of the hump now (ex. applying for a residence permit). Llife becomes very convenient once you just handle business the first few weeks. i had a lot of great help from my school and classmates who've lived here before tho
WeChat and Alipay were a big issue before i arrived i heard because they were never used to accepting foreign credit cards during the pandemic but now they take them. China transitioned a cashless society in the years new foreigners/tourists weren't here and they def were slow to address that/inform people. But the apps itself are great like i can do just about anything on WeChat from checking my bank account to ordering food.
But like just an example I traveled for the first time on the high speed rail to Shanghai for the ATP tennis tournament last weekend and it was a seamless experience the entire time. Actually living and doing stuff is easy it's just the confirming papers and apps that is annoying the first month. Oh and i live in a residence hall which is farrrrr simpler than finding housing in China

Yeah food isn't really an issue imo at all. It's inexpensive ( like $2-$5 USD for average spots), well prepped imo and they serve a ton.
I guess someone more detailed might care more about certain factors i'm missing tho but i have my go-to spots, and am always trying random regions cuisines. Had no issue transitioning to meals here.

instead of just showing this cool spot to unaware viewers she chose to pretend like she didn't know. for what? scripted content is so corny

Once you see the bottom tho the illusion breaks you start seeing stuff that points out youre higher and on a roof-like structure
Very cool tho
And remember to those itt, the everyday people and society isnt the pieces of s*** its the govt parties and police so chill out
