Mostly Instagram. I run a pretty large account and people have insightful discussions in my comments all the time lol. It’s really not the hellscape you’re describing dude
thats good for your account.
but overall why do you think the high level execs at these companies dont let their kids use their platforms?
I spend time in backwater asf areas sometimes and still havent heard this. Larper country music
I'd say ktt2 is a forum instead of a social media app
we discuss things with words and there isn't any short form content generated on here for profit.
Forums are a type of social media

We do not know who each other are on here

You don't have to. There are so many Twitter and Instagram accounts where the identity of the person behind the account is unknown. It's still social media

If I were to post a picture from IG, would you know it's me and who I am?
If I were to post a tweet, would you know who the person is that tweeted it?

What do those accounts do
They be coping so hard man
I’m just not seeing how this is similar to the endless scroll slop troughs of short form content.
No they're not. Every kid and parent has their own screen and algorithm. They aren't gathered around the family television or family computer or listening to the top 40 in the minivan. Beyond that the music is not that profitable. There are not a hundred thousand CDs going out the door which means a big marketing spend, a big music video that cost six figures.
These artists are Tik Tok sounds and s*** that plays in Target and anyone can treat them like the ambient drivel they are.
Didn't you read the /s?
"every parent and kid has their own screen and algorithm" is the most depressing thing ill read today
na na iaint mean to steer u off dat lol
if thats how u feel thats 100% valid. i just meant the collective writing it off in the thread, especially from ppl who r claiming they never heard the song (if at all) til today
im nascent to country. grew up on kenny rogers mostly
but seeing as its clear the trend of the country's charts are headed in that direction + dolly's recent passing, im intent on delving deeper
nashville sound is my fav; id say this is one of my favorite deep cuts
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdvGUuNCyS8Bro Kenny Rogers slaps
that’s a great artist to grow up on, love reading that! And I def enjoyed that song you posted too
I need to take a page out of your book & dive deeper into country & def the Nashville sound, and forsure dolly’s discog!!!!
thats good for your account.

Because their kids won’t have time to become high level executives like them trying to keep up with endless lists of pointless culture discussions on moments that never last

I think it’s because they want their kids to be happy
I think it’s because they want their kids to be happy
Doubt it. They got legacies to generationally protect and being distracted by social media will affect the plan

All we're saying is that forums are a type of social media
The record from 1996 to 2019 was held by One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, which was #1 for 16 weeks.
Then in 2019, Old Town Road broke the record and set a new one with 19 weeks at #1.
In 2024, A Bar Song (Tipsy) reached 19 weeks at #1 as well and tied the record.
However, from 2019 to the current day, with the rise of streaming, All I Want for Christmas Is You has been charting at #1 annually every holiday season. Despite releasing in 1994, it hit #1 for the first time in 2019, tied the record of 19 weeks in 2025, and finally surpassed it that same year as well, becoming the first song ever to reach 20+ weeks at #1, currently sitting at 22 weeks total.
So the record has only changed twice in the past 30 years, with one of them being a holiday song that repeatedly hits #1 every year.
Choosin' Texas reaching 20 weeks at #1 is significant because it's the first song to do it in its initial chart run, and it has the chance to actually surpass All I Want for Christmas Is You as the longest-running #1 song ever
that mariah carey 2peat gon b hard 2 beat

Maybe what social media was supposed to be. Or used to be
But current form?
It’s good to have some incentive to make something besides background music.
