For me it's Kelly and Usher. I don't say Bobby he didn't last that long, for reasons we all know.

I would like to give Chris a chance but he's gotta be a prince for now cuz he just never dominated like the others. The word king implies that you ruled that genre at least at one point and time. Kellz did in the 90s, Usher did 2000s into the early 2010s. Chris was the only new one with mainstream relevance, but there was never an era where just ruled the genre unfortunately.

Chris has definitely been the hottest since 2011. Won a Grammy and had 3 smash hit singles that year. Then followed that up with X in 2014 and we all know about how well received that was.

Since then really no one has been as consistent or prolific as him in the genre.

Real ones know how fire this is going to be after how good Indigo was.
