Man that narrative is finally starting to die. It’s the oldest argument in the book now. I just tell people that if you still believe that then you never research or have read the Bible for yourself. Fredrick Douglas was the prime example of reading it for himself and realizing those slave owners wasn’t giving the full story. They was cherry picking verses to them and taking it out of context to justify their manipulation. Once the slaves started actually reading it they realized no one who owned them was giving them the full actual truth
