I love Nolan's films bu I watched this in IMAX at a Cineplex in Toronto and i couldn't make out jack s*** on the dialogue. I couldn't even tell the characters names when they said them. Re-watching on Saturday night, hopefully another theatre changes the experience.

saw it at yonge and dundas and same s***. i can’t even critique this film because i couldn’t hear 50% of it + all the conversation montages in the beginning it’s like trying to recall a dream.

Any word on when this is coming to theaters?

Haven’t anticipated a movie like this in a while but don’t really want to die for it

On first watch, this is bottom tier Nolan.

Saw this in IMAX 70mm & the visuals were simply stunning. Those Amalfi Coast sequences were gorgeous.

However, the performances, aside from Pattinson were quite dull. John David fell super flat for me.

The audio was literally one of the worst I’ve ever heard in a movie. There needs to a federal law for Nolan movies to have subtitles moving forward. Unacceptable.

The idea is interesting, the execution, not so much. Loved the set pieces & action throughout but exposition was whatever.

Also, Nolan’s style is starting to become quite saturated now. I’m tired of the played out - deep talks which quickly flashback to a 2 second clip of a character & an important moment then cut back

Ludwig did his thing with the score. Nothing memorable like Hans but it’s certainly one of the positives.

    6/10

    rewatching it with subtitles today

literally couldn't hear 75% of the dialogue in the back half of the film

in my cinema the audio wasnt THAT bad, so idk, but id say about 5% was difficult to hear, def watch it with subtitles tho, but i watch all movies with subtitles.

Saw it at the BFI IMAX in London and yeah the sound was jarring but lowkey it made it more thrilling.
