Didn’t realize this movie was seen as so devoid of a meaningful plot I’m not the type of viewer who gets wowed by spectacles I actually find them super annoying if they don’t have a purpose

Question is will I hate this movie?

I’m not against a confusing or hidden plot I just need something of value there

There isn't really any kind of meaningful connection to real life or anything beyond elements of establishment greed or domestic abuse but neither is really explored much. Its kind of like a 60s Spy flick story that is fused in with this concept of time inversion. Its definitely not as substantial in its story or emotional value as Nolan's other works. Mostly what makes this work well is in the filmmaking (some of the best editing I have ever seen, great music and action, dope cast, and the concept of time inversion is genuinely pretty interesting to hear about and to see)

with that said, you may find something of value narratively in regards to the emotionally abusive relationship as well as a particular friendship.

This movie is fantastic lmao maybe it’s cause I went in with low expectations but this felt like a true Nolan film, he reminds you why he can get a 200m+ dollar budget on the drop of a hat. It’s not a perfect film but it definitely has that through line that keeps you glued to every second of the movie from start to finish plus a classic Christopher Nolan ending. I won’t say more about the movie in this thread but DO NOT let the negativity dissuade you from going to see this in theaters I know I almost did.. not saying it’s going to be the best movie ever but it’s worth the experience
