ppl say JDW is wooden but outside of Fruitvale, Chronicle and Creed, MBJ acts so awkward and miscast (many of those roles tend to be him doing larger than life personas as what is needed for a movie like Tenet)
MBJ would have been an awful choice for Tenet and you can clearly see with how cringe some of his delivery is in movies like F4 or Black Panther.
JDW is a way better choice for a movie like this
It was def just for this performance he was way more charismatic in Black klansman
fellers there is a whole spoiler thread for yall to discuss the movies plot
Link it

i thought he was far better here than in BK
JDW looked miscast in BK honestly. The guy looks like a natural charismatic leading man and that is just a very strange feel to give to a real life man in the police investigating the KKK. I always felt it was jarring to see that because it just came off like hero worship from Spike
I watch movies to enjoy an story. If I want an action movie I’d watch fast and the furious
well Tenet is an action movie. And the action and music go way harder than anything from F&F
tbh I don't think Nolan's theater sound mix works as well for a movie this dialogue heavy as it did for Interstellar or Dunkirk because in both those films it made sense for dialogue to be hard to hear in certain moments (like the cornfield chase or with Hardy in the plane) and that made those moments more immersive.
Here, there are a number of moments where it doesn't really make much sense for why the dialogue is so hard to hear (outside of the moment when theyre talking on a speeding boat). But even then, I don't mind that cuz this movie will eventually drop in Blu Ray and I can enjoy the normal mix then. What I do know is that there is no home mix that will ever live up to how amazing it was to witness the highway sequence or the opening sequence in theaters with the music and action turned all the way up like that.
Prolly one of Nolan's worst movies, but like one the best 7/10's I ever seen. Great cinema experience.
“Best 7/10 I’ve ever seen” is a great description lol
4 times lmao
gave Interstellar a rewatch after 8 years, basically a 1st watch again for the real feel of it since i was young when it came out. It's basically the same time loop story, just one that's more character-driven and has emotion lmao even has the idea of people in the future knowing to help in a certain moment but it really only quickly covers that idea for a minute or so as the 4D area is disappearing. Made me appreciate Tenet's pace even more and realize developing characters would've just gotten in the way of the time loops. Revealing them works just fine for me :amber: Love the nice mix of SWAT, Spy and Military Soldier in the look of everything and i like that the prologue, middle and ending can be traced to each of those flavors too.
NOLAN X TRAVIS FOR LIFE
