Don’t see nolan ever allowing WB to put this on HBO Max lol
His films usually go to HBO channel first anyways so there’s little way to stop the inevitable
If it goes to the channel it automatically ends up on Max. That’s the case with most WB films
Yeah, but like, that's just a gimmick.
How is a well thought out plan and a career long interest a gimmick tho?
A gimmick is usually something cheap but time is Nolan’s thing and has been for decades and he does it in different ways and takes a s*** ton of money. That takes a lot of effort and years to actually come up with. Odd to call a gimmick even if it doesn’t hit or wasn’t gripping. Seems like a poor way to deflect someone’s hard work
Idk I’ve never looked at a directors blatant interest like that and limited it to just a “gimmick”

i don't see that as being his decision
rented this do i need to put subtitles or was it just a cinema theater audio issue

please put subtitles on for your own good
man the dialogues in this are too much...
everyone talks all the same and have these deep intense thought out prepared speech and replies like c h i l l
action sequences was tight tho and interesting bc of the concept, day and night in contrast to the weak ass action in tdkr
music was the best, even the trav song fitted in
Funny how there’s two reactions to this
Wow greatest thing ever top 2 and it’s not 2
And
Meh. This fell flat
| it is very flat |
Gets worse the more you think about it
Atleast it’s pretty though.
G the audience did a huge GASP when that scene happened. It was great
Just reaffirmed my stance that the man either hates gore in a sense or just dislikes violence.
One of the most FRUSTRATING moments is the first "how I got these scars" moment where he....cuts MJWs face??? I guess??? The audience doesn't see and is left to interpret what happened but the moment completely loses traction once the death isn't shown. He does that all the time. All we are left with is a musical cue
yet the joker in tdk and even in that scene was able to convey terror to the audience. if done right, leaving things to the imagination is more effective than showing a false depiction of violence. his movies display his want to show realism (his avoidance of CGI, his respect to accuracy in time films e.g., 2 min bomb timers in movies go off in 2 mins realtime, etc)
Just started this movie again. I’m in for a thrill
Opera siege is my fav opening scene OAT
