I still hate the F*** out of the climax of this movie
The climax of the movie is the interrogation scene.
lmaooo
ppl saying its his worst film conveniently skip over TDKR which is garbage tier.
TENET is one of the coolest movies around. no cap.
like a more interesting james bond film
There are too many cool films to say this is one of the coolest around
It's something we've seen from Nolan before but not this well thought out this time around. I like the score and setpieces tho but it's def bottom tier Nolan. Just like TDKR

You know what i mean smartass

I somewhat agree then
I appreciate the coolness of that final battle and that it was really all a front and Neil taking that bullet is solid

It just didn't do anything for me personally. I actually did not think it looked cool at all, they barely show anything. Did not feel any sort of emotional payoff at the end either. Not with Protag and Neil or with the wife of the generic Russian villain (which i actually liked despite how generic he was)
After 3 watches (including in theather) i still feel the same: this was just a worse feeling Inception that just had bigger set pieces. And i'll die on that hill. Inception is probably my favorite thing Nolan has ever done. But Interstellar keeps growing on me too. Normally my appreciation for a Nolan film declines upon rewatching for some reason

Because his films are for the most part empty

I agree, maybe that's the answer to why Interstellar is the only one growing on me. It has more emotion than all of his other films combined
Not that i even go into a Nolan film expecting that, but you're absolutely right that they tend to feel empty or like somethings missing. I do appreciate the technical side of his films, but my other favorite filmmakers that are known for being technical wizards all have that something extra to add to their craft... whereas with Nolan his films seem like it's just a glorified blockbuster packaged in the most exciting gift wrapping
nothing wrong with that either, he def has his own style and i don't really dislike any of his films. But i don't ever feel like rewatching them

I hated the Kat and all the generic Russian s***
I am just a huge fan of the spy genre (novels and s*** too) so this was a fun time for me

Never rly understood the emotion criticism with Nolan
Interstellar, Dunkirk, TDK, and the prestige are all some of the most emotional experiences I’ve had watching a film
Agree with tenet being cold but his films always have an emotional core to them I feel
Kitchen fight was so good. Wish we got more fights like that. Protagonist is a bad ass but he didn’t get to show it enough in fights like that.
Even that fight was mid, and random, like I dont even know the full capability of the protagonist after watching the film.
They didnt do and show enough to get an understanding of him, or to even be invested in him
3rd watch. Classic. Top 3 nolan
S*** taste
Why would anyone pick TENET over Inception, its like choosing Walmart version of a luxury brand

Tenet is better edited, better shot, has better action, and is even more adventurous than Inception
Theres definitely a plethora of areas where Tenet is better made than Inception.

better music too
better music too
I think that’s more subjective. Inception has some of the most iconic all time compositions already. I guess if you find the BRRRRRMMMM stuff overbearing or repetitive, I can understand liking Tenets score more but I’d say ultimately both films have excellent OSTs

Hellllll no

many good points made here
This concept is cool but I didn’t know wtf was going on till way too late in this s*** lmao
All that vague s*** when it came to the actual details of what they were fighting for and about was wack
And Lowkey who were they even fighiting against at the end
Great movie but at the same time wtf lol
It would have made more sense if somehow they made it so that Neil was explicitly Kat’s son
Even that fight was mid, and random, like I dont even know the full capability of the protagonist after watching the film.

How in the hell is that fight "mid" lol
Which Nolan fights are amazing in your opinion then?

Its not even about how "amazing" the fight is, its in the context its placed within the story, thats everything imo.
Take for example, the tension and build up in TDK when Joker is looking for Harvey at the fundraiser
"A little fight in you, I like that..."
"Then you're gonna LOVE ME"
The music, the story, the buildup
BOOM
Instant release when Batman punches the Joker and begins this fight sequence
The camera angle, spinning around Batman creates this feeling of chaos and puts the Batman in this very heroic and powerful position
Now back to Tenet
I dont remember anything about that fight other than the fact that he had dinner with the wife, got some information he needed, then he beat some random "thugs" with kitchen utensils
So f***ing pointless to the overall movie, the plot, everything lmao
Garbage movie, garbage script
