imagine not watching nolans magnum opus in IMAX

If I can put myself in a plexiglass container with an open window to the IMAX screen then I’ll do it

But at the same time I might just risk it all for Tenet

the worst thing about theatres is that other people are there. They talk and eat and stink and are annoying and take space away. Watching this with empty seats next to you is a blessing.

I get when people say this and I agree with some movies, US and Get Out and Lighthouse and call my by your name and Midsommar were all ruined by people who were laughing at parts that weren’t meant to be funny and the uncomfortable nature just made people talk and laugh

But blockbusters sometimes really feel enhanced by crowds of engaged people who are into it. It’s a played out and basic thing to say but the last two avengers movies (and parasite fits too) at sold out showings were some of my fav movie experiences ever because of the reactions and crowd

Yeah with big blockbusters, it’s special when there’s a lot of people there

To be fair I haven’t felt that kind of theatrical magic experience since probably Interstellar but when it happens, there’s nothing quite like it

Easily my favorite movie experiences ever were in a theater (sold out screenings for TDK, Interstellar, Public Enemies, Avatar in 3D/IMAX, me and my friends being the only ones in a screening of The Strangers and being scared s***less, Fast Five)

Thing is even if it’s not a big blockbuster, the best place to see any movie is in the theater. Even if it’s something like Carol or Good Time or Blackhat, seeing those in theaters >>>>

Carol rarely see that film mentioned besides like a small nice LGBT fanbase on twitter but I loved it

Now if you're playing the movie on a telephone, you will never... in a b-trillion years experience the film. You'll think you have experienced it, but you'll be clears throat cheated. It's a-such a sadness that you think you've seen a film on your F***ING telephone. Get real.

i assume there will be new seating arrangements so everyone sits 6 ft apart from one another.

Dudes getting worried but I assume the theaters are going to follow social distancing protocol.

Plus you can also come in wearing a mask and gloves.

I'm not scared of the theater restrictions, I'll wear a mask for sure. I'm scared of idiot viewers not doing the same.

yea, @ cinemas here in nl its like this:

if ur just with 1 friend then u can sit next to each other

everyone else sites atleast 3 seats apart
    every other row is closed
they guide u 1 by 1 to the seat
when u come at the cinema, u dont wait, u immediately go get snacksies and peepee break and then to the screen

works relaly well tbh, wasnt near anyone during the whole experience
