a vod release is not feasible for a movie that needs to gross 800 million to break even

It’s more like $600M. Only 3 Nolan movies made it past $800M, no way it did cost THAT much.

Its gonna need even more than that now that this has been delayed indefinitely

Good chance they spend another 50-100 mil in marketing when they are sure of a good theater opening date

I'm fine with waiting for this

Can't respect a single person's opinion on cinema if they don't support the original intent of the filmmaker. You all deserve Marvel if you think like that.

How did Nolan take an L? Movie will come out when cinemas in US are back open. I think the American citizens took an L by not properly managing the spread of the virus thus cancelling summer movie season.

Fam I got a feeling that they won't break even on this no matter when it releases.
Nolan bout to have his first box office flop. Youd hate to see it

Not his fault though. WB knows that too.

  • Jul 20, 2020

Movie theaters aint opening in America anytime soon. I think they’ll probably drop it On Demand during the holidays or wait until Summer 2021.
They’ve already done the ad campaign for it, it’s better to just drop it On Demand. They will still make lots of money. It’s not gonna be a billion but the studios need the cash right now

  • Jul 20, 2020

OP desperate. Whole industry is dying rn.

Lmao this isn't an L for Nolan - he's gonne be fine, this is an L for all of us and theaters globally.

Where does this number come from? No studio would green light a project that needs 800M to break even
