70mm IMAX the new one that opened by me is sold out for like a full month besides handicap seating even 1am 2am showings. They apparently have the only deal with IMAX 70MM til Dune 3 so from now until december I feel like it will be in theaters from now til Late september

Odyssey sweep in full effect make no mistake

Just watched this last night in IMAX, took a while to gather my thoughts.

This might be top 3 Nolan, for me. In general, I feel like his complete maturation as an auteur and artist began with Dunkirk (even though I’d def put Interstellar in my top 3 or TDK in my top 5, but they are not without their flaws). This one, along with Dunkirk and Oppenheimer, feels like the final part of a trilogy dealing with war and its effects on humanity.
While Dunkirk focused on the extraordinary heroism that everyday folk are capable of in the face of absolute evil, and Oppenheimer sort of deals with the macro effects of war and human ambition, this one feels like the most decidedly anti-war. Focusing on the intimate effects of war on a human being, and how there are no true winners in war, only those who survived with serious psychological consequences and those who died.

There is nothing more to be said about the performances of the cast than what has already been said, all did their job with perfection and Matt is spectacular as Odysseus. Ludwig once again did his thing, and Hoyt as well. Cinematography is chefs kiss perfection, the sacking of Troy is a 10/10 sequence in modern filmmaking.
Seeing the s***ty ass Avengers CGI-to-the-bone trailer after seeing the umpteenth proof of what practical effects are capable of in this movie, just gives me more reason to aplaud Nolans commitment to them in this day and age.

All in all, a strong 9 out of 10 for me, a wonder of a movie with a strong message, fantastic atmosphere, set pieces, music and cinematography.

I agree with all of this. It is also incredible to see people truly engage with art like this again. Do I think its that challenging of the audience? No. Its rather straightforward overall and falls under the trilogy of Men seeing their reflection in a way. The limits of their ego and hubris.

Just got back from my 2 hour journey to see hit film “The Odyssey” in true IMAX glory.

Glorious experience. Tom Holland performance was a bit bland compared to his peers but not a major detractor from the move.

Had an auragasm when they opened the gates of Troy and Agamemnon was just standing there while the soldiers ran past him

Oppenheimer was pretentious trash this is much better

Agamemnon Armor is some s*** out of Elden Rign it was so HARD

Movie of the Year - sound design and visuals were insane

second watch confirmed this is a total masterpiece, even better the second time so many scenes and parts of the score really blew me away. the sacking of troy is one of the best scenes this decade. need a third watch still
