I get why GDT was the guy from his generation to get to go all out and do it, but man Frankenstein would’ve been a great movie in the current Oppenheimer/Odyssey Nolan creative moment

I feel like you could pick out themes and motifs from his last two movies and amalgamate somewhere close to Frankenstein. Men haunted by the consequences of their genius, what dangerous and unchecked ambition leaves in its path. Plus he could’ve done his bendy narrative stuff, his tortured male hero sacrificing everything in devotion to a goal stuff, his giant practical sets and sequences, his fatherhood/working father away from his family stuff

Plus nailing adaptations of unadaptable Oppenheimer American Prometheus biography, The Odyssey and then god damn Frankenstein would’ve been a crazy run. There’s also quite a bit of Frankenstein stylistically and thematically in The Prestige too, which is what made this idea come to me. Maybe in 20 years after GDT’s one ages, he can do his own.
