Always kept them in the back burner because they took so long to release but damn.

That statement by Mike seems to lowkey back this up. Sucks but not completely surprising tbh.
Wonder what happens with Dear Tommy now... Maybe it ends up a JJ solo album now
What's their best album? Where do I start from?
For me it's the one they never released tbh, singles for that are my favorite material by the band, Shadow most of all. Otherwise Night Drive imo

don't want a JJ solo version to ever drop tbh
personally, i'm done with IDIB and won't ever check again whatever they drop
hope Ruth, Nat and Adam will continue to work together tho, and will gladly listen to their future projects

What sucks is they probably don't have the rights to so many songs now, like just thinking all the unreleased work of like 8 years... Bet it was a difficult step for them, but I can see how they just didn't feel in control anymore.
Hope (for his family too) that JJ gets some help. His work for the Return remains goat

Windswept still gorgeous

Night Drive is probably the place to start, then check out Kill for Love I'd say.
After that it's difficult to explain, I guess - there's a bunch of singles that were meant to be for the album Dear Tommy, so I'd track those down of course, then their final album Closer to Grey.
Plus you've got essentially the compilation albums of odds and ends - Running from the Sun (Kill for Love sessions stuff), Cherry Deluxe (a whole bunch of things from post-Kill for Love years) and Faded Now (which was the second disc from Closer to Grey deluxe, more stuff from those sessions).
If you're looking to get into the pre-Night Drive stuff, I'd start with In Shining Violence, and the In the City EP.

I slept on this band for a long long time and I'm so glad I checked out Kill for Love. I dont mean this as an insult, but the album is so simple and "effortless" that it's really inspiring to someone like me who makes music on the side and motivates me to put s*** out there
Ruth x Abel vid out now, edited by Johnny
Pretty sure it's just old footage of Abel from the og Blinding Lights shoot, but it's nice and features an alt mix.
Thumbnail of this BL remix reminds me of Thriller
