I was thinking about the same thing a few days ago. I noticed that Rock dominated my favorite decades of music (60's and 70's) and how Rock started to slowly die out with the subsequent decades. By the 2000's there were only a handful of bands that I actually enjoyed (The Strokes, Arcade Fire, The Killers, Animal Collective, The Vines, etc.) and it has gotten worse since then.
