What do you reckon Mac is referencing with the "life is bit a dream"? He wants proof life is meaningless? Can't wrap my head around his thought here

That's a good question

It's very open for interpretation but imo, "Life is a dream" implies that "nothing exists but the individual’s consciousness" much in the vein of Solipsism i guess

If eveything we experience is only within our minds, then memories we make are just as valid as dreams

"I know if life is but a dream then so are we" Maybe he's talking about Ego Death, i think he touched on this subject before on Colors and shapes...

Then again might be reaching since i don't necessarily know much about these subjects

Perhaps Mac has certainly realised that generally life is meaningless, and therefore so are the individuals experiencing it.

The "show me something I can see" is his request for somebody special/with meaning (Ariana?) to prove life does have a potential meaning?

As for ego death, does he chat much about his d*** use? I didn't notice many stand out lyrics

We don't know if Mac's vision on music after death changed trough the times.My gut feeling is we would wait 2-3 years after this album for something else IF something else drops.

I got the feeling some albums he made during the creation that led to GOOD AM will be released but we'll see

on one hand i don't want mac's legacy to die out and people slowly forgetting him but ,on the other if this is his final album, thats perfect too

Also because he was at the point of making Circles in 2018 but hearing the leaks that leaked from Faces and GOOD AM era we can tell his focus at the time was still proving himself as rapper.
How would a scrapped project from 2014 sound coming after Circles?Would that be "stepdown" for critics and casual people/listeners after this one?

This album is more than good enough to withstand the test of time, so his music to date will carry his legacy on regardless. However many years from now when we play this for our kids. Just like many people born far after The Beatles’ time know and love their songs and albums. The people who music matters that much to them will find the music some way. Don’t need to drop music that wasn’t going to be dropped before just for the sake of maintaining his name in the “now”. I get wanting more as a fan but I always want what an artist deems to be their best work and nothing less. But I get it both ways.
