i worked at a clarks outlet after hs and there were some crazy people there

one female coworker would randomly tell me about the number of abortions she had despite me having never asked her anything even remotely close to that and she would say a ton of racist s*** about the asian and indian tourists who came to the store

my manager would have me constantly check up on black customers who were walking around the store cause he thought they might be stealing. it was my first job and i was incredibly oblivious to the obvious racism, i thought my manager was just trying to get me used to talking to customers. then one day when a family was leaving the store i told them "have a good day" and they yelled at me for following them around the store and then it all clicked for me

another dude would do coke in the employee bathroom and one day he told the female assistant manager that "his p**** was as big as a small asian man" and was obviously fired. i still have no idea what he meant by that

that same female assistant manager would steal boxes of shoes when she closed the store by herself. employees from another store saw her leaving with a bunch of boxes and reported her and when they investigated it they found that she was also keeping the bank bags full of money that were supposed to be dropped off to mall security at the end of the night. i have no idea what happened to her

then some other smaller s*** like one dude who was a new hire wouldn't do anything that our female coworkers would ask of him but would always listen to me even though he was like 30 years older than me and then one other dude dying a few months after i left

s*** was crazy and its all i can think about when i see this brand now
