    Blackland Radio 66.6 Pt. 1 & 2

Blackland radio pt.1 an underground classic just for that whole Memphis revival and pioneering a sound that people like X strived on. Now for pt.2 while it was great what did it really do besides being great?

    mentioning astroworld but not dbr

    take care but no iyrtitl

one aged like milk meanwhile the other still slaps

wheres kissland, still sounds incredibly good and i guess with that innovative prod its never gonna sound old

and despite not being the biggest ye fan id say yeezus left its mark and its probably my favorite album of his

you give f***ing tyler a classic when there are so many good ones you havent mentioned yet

OVO has had a lot of innovative and unique sounds imo, i mean pnd has been trash for a while but roy, dvsn and majid jordan all have a classic under their belt in the 2010s

i try to keep the list in a way that takes multiple factors into consideration, like qualify, impact, popularity etc
IYRTITL is fire, i played it literally today and still know all the lyrics, but it didnt really have a big impact
that s*** was for fans that wanted to hear drake spit and thats what makes it good

    OP said personal classics
    Nvm I read wrong
But I think it will still be remembered as the album that signaled the existence of a whole underground scene, like Memphis but smaller.

My five favorite albums of those are id say MBDTF, blonde, Art Angels, yeezus, and Charli

And as you may have inferred, Art Angels is by far my fav Grimes album. Very accessible and so many catchy fun hooks as well as some touches of experimentation. The sound is just so colorful and to me its Grimes at her most confident.

If you wanna listen to more, start with Visions which is where Oblivion is, then listen to Art Angels. If you like those then safe bet is youll like the rest of her discog

all 3 are solid fasho but i think what makes them arguable classic material is the concept behind dropping all that music in a 6 month span & blowing up so quickly

people clearly not knowing the difference between mainstream classics and cult classics in this thread

  • Mar 4, 2020

Did you just pick a handful of mainstream albums to call cult classics at random?

people clearly not knowing the difference between mainstream classics and cult classics in this thread

to be fair i changed the whole premise of the thread midway to allow for better discussion, feel like thread wouldve derailed if i kept it limited to just classics
