Was reading a few posts about how underwhelming GRODT is (for newer listeners) The hype, 9 shots and Dr. Dre / Em cosign made it such a significant release. Those things mean little to someone listening to the album for the first time these days and would take a backseat to the music. So when it comes down to explaining the greatness of that album to a first time listener it loses a bit of its magic because it wasn't experienced in real time. Unlike an album like Views, which was a letdown because it never lived up to the hype, but can be appreciated more these days because it's being judged for what it is, as opposed to what it could've been.
