tbh after these past what? 5 releases? i would say so tbh. it’s def in the mention of the best
I mean Hitboy and Kanye are both not really good producers to work with right now.
I’ve got Nasir higher because 20 minutes of mid beats 40 minutes of mid
hit boy is literally one of the best producers out right now
these garbage kings tin can disease albums have people making outlandish claims when we could be doing some deep dives on the actual good s*** from 00s nas discog
Nasir is overhated. For 7 songs you’ll pretty much want all bangers and no skips. He didn’t succeed with maybe 2 skips but the other 5 tracks are superb
I’m a big fan of GFK, scarface too but they’re a little bit overrated as far as discogs go imo when you count the solo discography only. I feel there name gets automatically brought up and people just accept it sometimes
GFK has 3 classics, Ironman, Supreme Clientele and Fishscale. He has 3 really good albums in Wallets, Tony and more fish, but after that is a little patchy imo and his last couple have been really disappointing. Still an excellent discog but not top 5
Scarface has Diary, Fix and Untouchable (debatable). Then mr scarface is back and last of a dying breed are very good. But again patchy those aside.
Both great artists and when you include group albums their discog is stronger, but they’re far from flawless
calling gfk or scarface overrated with this outrageous thread title???? while ghostface has dropped off scarface has one of the better arguments for a no misses discog

Not them, they’re discographies. I feel they’re always brought up and both have more than their fair share of mid. I’m not doubting their classics though and the fact they also have classic group albums. I listen to both regularly

How I feel

i don't think scarface has ever dropped a below good album honestly
Love the write up @op
Disagree with the ranking ofc since everyone has their own opinion but I pretty much agree with your take on each album minus a few things
My ranking
1)Illmatic - flawless obviously
2)The Lost Tapes - flawless obviously
3)Stillmatic - the modern version doesn’t have bravehart party so it’s literally flawless
4)Life Is Good - flawless, summer on smash is a vibe
5)KD3 - FLAWLESS. You chose “On Fire” as a bad song? That’s literally one of the best songs tf lol
6)Magic - Flawless
7)IWW - Wild that I have it only at 7 but the 6 albums above are literally flawless so i had to do it. “Black Girl Lost” def weigh the project down, not bad just corny. Still view IWW as a classic
8)KD2 - “Brunch on Sundays” is incredible you buggin
9)KD1
10)Gods Son
Every album in my top 10 either has certified or arguable classic status imo
After that I’d go:
11)Untitled/N*gger - Amazing album with a great concept, two filler songs away from being a classic
12)Streets Disciple - Most Underrated Nas album of all time imo. It’s a double album so ofc there is filler and the direction he took with this album was definitely different but man there are some absolute classic songs on this
13)I Am - Peak commercial Nas. Plenty of filler, Plenty of iconic classics. “NY State of Mind 2” > the original imo and “Undying Love” might be the most vivid story ever told in rap history.
14)Nasir - Could’ve been so much better, beats were fire imo but Nas flow sounded off, def believe the rumors about the issues working with Ye
15)Lost Tapes 2 - I think you are being to harsh on this. As a follow up to Lost tapes 1 it fails but as a compilation of unreleased 2010s era Nas songs I think it succeeds. Lots of great moments on this. “You Mean The World to Me” prod by Ye is way better than anything on Nasir
16)Hip-Hop Is Dead - This Album always been corny asf to me. Black Republicans, Still Dreaming, and Can’t Forget about you are all time great Nas songs tho
17)Nastradamus - Nas definitively bad album lol. Not a lot of good moments on this at all. A lot of songs unlistenable. “Life We Chose” is incredible tho.
Hov and Ye the only rappers in his league discography wise. 1a, 1b, and 1c if we being real
If Kendrick keep going he has the potential to catch him as well, off to an incredible start 10 years in, Nas being 30 years in
Brunch on Sundays hate so played out. It's a cheesy song, but it's a good kinda cheesy.

Chill with the KD hate but also real for the 00s Nas albums respect

My homies 2 is awful

nasir fan / hit boy hater duality

i don’t f*** wit his new albums but the fact he releasing tapes this deep in his career is insane. we don’t see many artists doin the rn. i think end of his career def top 3 oat in discord for rappers
My homies 2 is awful
Yeah, the story behind the "My Homies 2" album is that Scarface never signed off on this project being released. This was J. Prince and Rap-A-Lot Records putting this out without Scarface's permission. Face never wanted this out in the first place. "Gotta Get Paid" is my s*** though lol, I love that song.
"Balls and My Word" and "My Homies 2" are the two projects that Scarface had no involvement with, those two were all J. Prince's doing.
Brunch on Sundays hate so played out. It's a cheesy song, but it's a good kinda cheesy.
I don't even think its cheesy bruh I live in Atlanta and having a lit Brunch on a Sunday around your realest niggas and some of the baddest b****es in the city is the wave idk what ya'll on where ya'll from
