I feel like that’s confused often. You can think a classic is a masterpiece but that doesn’t mean it’s not flawed it means important influential. Being a masterpiece doesn’t make something a classic
True. Graduation is a classic to me but I wouldn’t say it’s a masterpiece or perfect. It has two of my favorite Kanye songs and I have fond memories of it when it released.
I mean they’re kinda one in the same
There are a lot of classics which aren't perfect
Plus "masterpiece" is more subjective than "classic"

What’s your definition for both?
To me a master piece is a work of art that’s of the highest quality
And a classic is something that doesn’t get old.
With that’s said, a classic and masterpiece are rarely mutually exclusive
yup id rather talk about masterpiece albums than classics tbh
take care a classic but not a masterpiece
nwts his masterpiece imo
I mean they’re kinda one in the same
Unless you’re a Wayne or drake stan
It’s both
Ask any average rap listener
They will put 2014 FHD over TPAB
I agree, but I feel like almost all masterpieces are classics. All classics arent masterpieces tho

Classic is art that is either timeless or important for its time that impacted the culture
Masterpiece is art that is of the highest level
It's true that classic albums are usually great albums, but they are not all masterpieces
Also masterpiece is subjective, while classic is both objective and subjective, so you can think a classic album is bad but it's still considered classic
Example: Titanic is a classic movie but it's not a masterpiece
Ask any average rap listener
They will put 2014 FHD over TPAB
There’s literally no way to prove that. And both are classics
I heard
Oh yeah, let's also remember that Views is also a classic, but those that weren't paying attention to rap / dancehall in 2016 won't "get it". they didn't witness the greatness in real time, so they wouldn't understand
I swear to god someone on ktt wrote something in the vein of that a few months ago, but it's so damn hard to tell if they were just f***ing around or serious
TPAB is a masterpiece but it ain’t a classic
TPAB is definitely a classic
There’s literally no way to prove that. And both are classics
FHD = Classic
TPAB = Masterpiece
Neither are both

Yeah I think that’s a better way to view it
TPAB is definitely a classic
No it’s not because it’s not one of those albums where you just throw on and vibe to like illmatic or ready to die
