nah there’s plenty tracks on there i’d happily never ever play again
inconsistent record although some slaps on it
My question to all you CLB enthusiast is this: what about CLB makes it special or stand out from all his other projects? All his other projects including HNM and Her Loss have a very strong identity thematically and sonically. Other than Drake having a heart part and that bullshit Damien Hurst cover CLB has no identity, no sonic characteristics that make you feel like it’s an essential listen
Only skip is f***ing fans deadass
If it had a different cover art and name you’d all love it
So real

It definitely has an identity
Its about relationships/women

It’s just great music
Champagne poetry
Papis home
Get along better
In the Bible
TSU
Race my mind
Girls want girls
N 2 Deep
YOL2
Pipe down
All amazing
The thing that disappoints me with CLB is that one of the best Drake albums is hidden in there but Drake was too scared to lose his commercial appeal. CLB is the first Drake project for me where he showed signs of evolution since Views. Pipe Down, TSU, N 2 Deep, Race My Mind are songs we've never heard before from Drake. But s*** like In the Bible, Way2Sexy and many more dilute the album and you end up with an album where 8 songs are super fire and the rest is skips or whatever.
If you take the best combination of leaks, DLDT, and CLB which more than likely were going to be the original CLB you’d get something truly amazing. Imagine getting Pipe Down, Not You Too, Chicago Freestyle, Champagne Poetry, Not Around, etc all on the same project

Every Drake album has good songs on it tho
Lol this exactly what I mean outside of you liking a lot of individual songs on it what makes CLB so great in comparison to past and recent releases? I would agree that 75-80% CLB is pretty good in a vacuum but it lacks all the other qualities of great albums. S*** has filler, poor sequencing, no cohesion sonically or thematically. S-Tier performances are few and far in-between (for comparison Her Loss has S-Teir verses on literally every song). Production is the least interesting and has the least amount of character of any Drake album imo.
CLB makes for a decent playlist to cherry pick and shuffle through but as a body of work played start to finish s*** is a chore and a bore
I have high standards for albums. If Kendrick or Kanye or Jay or Wayne dropped some sloppy boring s*** like CLB (which they pretty much all have at different points in their careers) I would be saying the same s***. I don’t just blindly d*** ride
the name could have been great if he acc went all in on the concept
cover wack tho and turned ppl off
Having an album cover turn you off from the music or even judging the music based on it is the most superficial pretentious music opinion I’ve ever heard

For me it's mostly about replay value. There are a lot more songs with high replay value on CLB than on Her Loss.

I disagree
I’ve already played every song on Her Loss more than I played anything off CLB aside from maybe Pipe Down and Fair Trade
Her Loss doesn’t just have replay value, s*** is downright addictive, literal crack, I need to go to rehab type s***
I literally had to force myself to listen to CLB the first few times to figure out what songs I liked, wasn’t fun

Then that's just down to personal taste. I just prefer the more melodic/rnb influenced music. The hard rap songs usually slap but it's just not the vibes I look for when I listen to music by myself
Edit: I can listen to songs like GWG, TSU, Pipe Down, Race My Mind and F***ing Fans everyday. On Her Loss this pretty much only applies to Hours In Silence

Yeah I think that’s it ngl
Drake really be having the fan base split because I’m a hip-hop head dawg, I like rap
I like the melodic stuff too but it takes a lot more for them types of Drake songs to impress me, I get bored really easily

For me it's vice versa. But in the end there is usually enough for both sides

Facts, Her Loss definitely among his most rap heavy releases but boy is it good
I don’t like when he tries to please everyone in one go
He gave us some melodic House music with HNM and that was fire now he gave us a project full of the best rap songs of the year
I hope he keeps doing s*** like that, taking turns focusing on different parts of his fan base. He could feed the Rnb heads next, would love to see it
Of all time? Nah that's a huge stretch
Plenty of Drake fans and people irl like it

I agree. If he keeps up the short breaks inbetween releases I would love the next project to bei mainly RnB. If it's released in spring maybe add a little Controlla vibes
Yep
Views more hated and probably better than clb tbh
Views is definitely not more hated and is definitely worse than CLB
