i would agree on better hits, but mr morale wasnt supposed to have hit songs and MAYBE better production. I do agree theres maybe a lack of consistency sonically. But the rest, i totally disagree.

U can say maybe that the message, equally paired with a much more pleasing production pushes you to choose damn, but to say damn has better songwriting than mr morale is totally wrong to me

I do agree that Damn superficially has more depth, emotion, and rap raps on it, but to me it’s kinda negated by the fact that the message is confused and bad. For sure Feel, Fear and Duckworth are better songs than Man in the Garden, heart or 6, and reincarnated. But still when I listen to a lot of damn with my adult mature brain it lowkey sounds kinda juvenile and kinda like Kendrick’s trying to find himself still. “Everything is bad because we’re damned by god because our ancestors did something bad… choices matter!” doesn’t hit the same to me now that I’m older. The supreme self assuredness that’s all over GNX is a lot more enjoyable to listen to and probably a more positive thing to put out there too ya know?

Lust is a top 10 kendrick song tho. There’s no equivalent to it on GNX. I’ll grant you that tho
