Both TPAB and GNX are both deserving of the main AOTY award, but that year's AOTY was definitely a high class robbery.
GNX winning doesn’t even make up for that travesty
Angels still stuck in 2018 I see
Adidon was almost a decade ago fam
Let it go
It never occurred that it's been 7 years ago. I still remember where I was vividly.
That and last year's beef is moments I'll always remember.

He def deserved it for TPAB

Literally the best album of 2010s no debate out of all genres.

They got cocaine and salt mixed up
He def deserved it for TPAB
I have never wanted to smack the s*** out of the committee so bad when he lost.

Classic hip-hop moments
I have never wanted to smack the s*** out of the committee so bad when he lost.
Grammys just don’t like rap like that
They gave it to Lauryn because as amazing as it was, it was closer to Neo-Soul then Hip-Hop
And OutKast 100% got it because of The Love Below. Which isn’t rap.
that tiny desk was one for the books btw the most hip hop thing ive seen in a min
had me cheesing the whole time
when the drummer started banging on the desk at the end and the camera also panned to the audience just having a good time I felt like something within me was restored
Word on Twitter is this is selling 5k this week 🤣
Who tf cares listen to the music dummy

Speakerboxx wasn't fully hip-hop either too. It had a lot of old 70s soul elements of Parliaments in the production as well.
GNX would be a huge win, because it's straight up hip-hop album with very little incorporations of other genres.
I’m ngl I was thinking Pharrell was washed for a while
He went nuts on here
He really really stepped it up here
Idk if it was the level of 2000s Neptunes, but it clears his other work in the last 5-7 years by a country mile
Def his best prod work since the last NERD album. You can tell this album meant a lot to him and he felt a good kind of pressure to deliver.
She leanin' on Celine 'cause she ain't steppin' in Giuseppe
Ski
This is what rapping at the elite level sounds like
Pharrell’s production on Sweetener is slept on
He did a great job on that album
The beats are nice.
I think REM tho was originally for T-Pain
I get some people are excited and want to like this album based on the names alone. But i don’t think this is anything genre defining or era piercing
My ear does latch unto Malice’s delivery and self-importance. That fire is rarely heard in rap anymore.
Think the beats are okay. Some good, some meh. Don’t think Pharrell has that magic touch anymore

Name the meh beats
The users who only really give praise to Malice when Pusha T also killed it automatically makes me give the side eye
Pieces of art like this deserve all the press/promo in the world.
Glad the greats still get a chance to shine.

We know why they downplay Push
We know why they downplay Push
Certain fans
Notice how they also try to downplay Pharrell’s contributions as well. More subtly though
As if their mans doesn’t put out nothing but midpack these days and act like it’s cool to play victim
