The drums were my biggest complaint. It still irritates me to this day how obsessed Pharrell was with that drum kit

Kanye being a co-producer on the album helped to give the drums some variety but yeah

Thankfully Malice or someone pulled him aside for the Clipse album and said “Time to let go of that drum kit bro”

It doesn’t pop up on the Clipse album at all thankfully. So Far Ahead and Ace Trumpets have a similar kit but it’s not the same.

Pharrell’s production was leaps and bounds better on LGSEO.

Pharrell didn’t bring it, but Pusha sure the f*** did

I don't know why people find it so hard to believe that P produced HHNF alone.

Chad was literally taking breaks to take care of his family during the late 2000s.

Even sources close to Chad (like his son) had told me this.

I’m a huge Chad fan, and I was very skeptical of Pharrell’s more recent production run, BUT Pharrell is a super producer in his own right.

It’s a cheap way to try and discredit P, the same way you see people only gas up Malice and try to downplay Push on this album like he didn’t bring his A game too.

I’m a vocal critic of Ps production this decade. I think he produced some awful beats here and there (Jack Harlow beat was basura).

But you gotta give credit when credit is due, his production on this album was absolutely phenomenal.

Because Pharrell has never produced anything solo like Hell Hath No Fury. Nothing.

Not to mention HHNF was recorded 2003-2006. So Chad took a 3-year break then?

Nobody is trying to discredit Pharrell, but it seems like y’all are trying to discredit Hugo

Never discredit Chad. There’s room for both to get their flowers for what they contributed.

Wouldn’t be The Neptunes without both.

Same, I also didn't really like the song that P did with Rick Ross.

But this album is just example of when Pharrell really locks in and make something phenomenal.

I highkey think majority of the stuff he makes nowadays is on Autopilot.

  • WESLEYS THEORY

Like it stills blows me away we have a 3 track run like Chains And Whips, POV and So Be It.

and then the 3 acronym track run

I think it moreso comes down to him just being a fan of Clipse overall. Like you can tell he just loves when Push and Malice rap together and he probably took it upon himself to listen to constructive criticism and accept what he could do better, so he did better.

He doesn’t have that same type of drive with other artists like Rick Ross who probably would just come to Paris for a day, and be cool with whatever Pharrell cooked up because it’s P. Whereas Clipse were probably gonna tell him when something could be better. And Pharrell was accepting of that because of how big of a fan he was.

Nobody trying to discredit Chad at all.

But there's a whole flux of mfs trying to discredit P and act like he needs Chad for everything when that's not true at all.

Also yes, there's been beats that Pharrell had made without Chad's involvement during that time as well.
