Now that we are only 10 days or so away from March... I like the way the song aged.
I think the studio version is dope without drums... It’s like a trap tempo 808’s song with dark TLOP “FML” vibes.
It’s like a weird mix of a vulnerable diary entree, leveled up flex and weird pop track. Video is next level & the live version bangs as well.
Great track. Guitar sample is excellently used and the choir fits it so nice. Like OP said, its got some dark FML kind of vibes.
Then that second beat comes in and it turns more inspiring with Kanye expressing his devotion to God.
"Jezebel dont even stand a chance"
Beautiful track, super underrated. Gives me those Wolves vibes when Ye proclaims his faith and love of family.
People say the Chick-Fila lines are corny, but its like they have never heard a Ye pop culture reference...thats his thing! Its not even corny, reminds me of the Sandwich line on Wolves
im still not convinced chik fil a is that good.
Days after the song dropped my friend brought over $200 of Chic-Fil-A to our Airbnb for my friends bachelor party weekend. We listened to “Closed on Sunday” for hours while getting annihilated pounding whiskey shots. 😀🥃
Track is flames, I was bugging for hating on it in October-November
Seeing it live at Sunday Service was moving, especially when he started freestyling
This song has a very good mix of the Kanye I enjoy. JIK is still top 5 album of 2019. I think a great wrap up to end the 10 decade.
