global shutdown -> third places and usual social climates like school/work/hobbies are digitized -> humanity normalizes this behavior as how we’ve always functioned for some reason once back into reality -> graduating into hard to find jobs -> AI -> incoming economic crash -> corruption in just about every country at unprecedented levels -> wars (violent/race/gender) -> endless algorithmic doomscroll now exists to compile all that in a feed for you in between memes

the youth are F***ED. especially since everything starts at home and people DO NOT CARE as they are trying to make up for lost time due global shutdown on top of the new normal we have accepted into our lives in less than 10 years that content is king and our devices will make us rich and fulfilled. older generations tryna keep up with and hold on to their youth who have no hope for the future with an incoming class of older leaders to the youth who also do not give a f*** as they were raised in the last global economic failures and wars and new norms and finally have access to incomprehensible amounts of wealth and unlimited power as the rules no longer matter

but also could just depend on the spot/location you are at. You go to a Amapiano DJ set, I doubt the vibes aren’t dancing and socializing, but these events are also dwindling

I was out on friday & we were grooving
    Whole room was
DJ threw on Suavemente & I had to break the hips out one time

But yeah, alot of night life is a rip off & being crushed by capitalism
Yakubs leaning on the pills & powders because the drinks are a rip

Definitely had more great nights out ~5 years ago than over the past couple years

The plot twist @Bruises @Thisisnotanalt is that my sober ass turns up more at a club then the people at the bar/drinking to the side.

    Anxiety and all.

One would think the opposite would be happening

I fw bars way more than clubs ngl i bet most gen z would say the same

  • Its covid mostly imo. S*** made us f*** up our social skills and gen z people started to be more health conscious. The economic situation is also present but I feel like the budget that was allocated for drinks and night outs it is now being used for “wellness”.

  • Gen Z?

  • Private parties >>>

Modern day clubbing was never good

Addy poppin white people surround by bad music and bad vibes

this weekend fellas was "outside" as they say. Just dancing and having a good time before I have to lock in for some work related s*** this coming week.

And bruh, it just hit me when I was dancing like...nobody really be dancing no more.

Obviously people are dancing and s*** but it's like...everybody is in their own cliqued up groups and more people (men and women) are on their phones like huggin the wall or even in the middle of the dance floor just bumping into the people tryna just bust a move.

Then I realized, s*** the cost of living, the rising cost of the drinks, and honestly years later we still socially haven't really recovered from COVID it kinda made sense afterwards. I feel sad for lotta the youth man. :/

tl;dr: Honestly the unc jokes my kids I teach during the week I welcome cause it's like,"yo insertcoolnamehere, you're old" and I'm like "um....yeah...and yall kinda f***ed lmao" (I don't say this)

Imagine being under trash ahh charli xcx marketing campaign in 2026

  • Y'all have been "realizing" and "noooticing" this for like six years now.

  • I don’t think we need to pathologize single nights out

Also a lot of people itt have clearly never really gone out…

    ketamine killed dancing

  • It really depends on the setting. If you go to latin clubs, places playing Brazilian funk, bollywood night, even amapiano, the crowd is completely different and it's a lot of fun.

It's partially because of capitalism, but equally it's caused by the rise of satanism in modern club scenes. It was easier to want to go out and dance in a public setting like that when you didn't have to be worried about being approached by diabolists. Even people who aren't worried about becoming a blood sacrifice for the satanic cabal don't want to be associated with that stuff.
