E.g. carti, ye, Keef, Uzi, Pharrell/NERD deep cuts, etc.
Are there any spots like this, or do you just have to follow certain DJs? I had my first genuinely fun clubbing experience ever at an event hosted by skateboarders last weekend
Most of the clubs I’ve been to either play house music which is just ok after a few drinks or the most basic nostalgic s*** for older millennials
f*** that noise. y'all know any clubs in nyc that play
yes you have to follow certain dj’s that play what u like
fake just gotta hang around and go to ur friends parties
Wales got clubs like these belive it or not.
One time they dropped NY state of mind in the club
@op woulda loved Neptunes night at Cafe Erzulie last year. They was playing B-Sides and mixtape cuts
You gotta also follow popping venue/clubs and see what type of music they’ll be playing that night.
Losing Kinfolk was a big hit to north williamsburg that was one of those “spots for niggas” the spots right next to it are ok (bar Schimmi & Schimainski) but Kinfolk was different different. And I’m saying this unbiased as both a partier and dj cause my times going there I didnt have the best experiences (almost got in a fight with a drunk c***who kept bumping into our dance circle) but it consistently brought out the diverse crowd in one of the whitest areas in Brooklyn
I say check out (follow on their ig, dont just automatically go cause the themes always different) Basquiat’s Bottle, Lot 45 Bushwick, SNS Bar, Cafe Erzulie, Deluxxx Fluxxx, Sultan Room, and Baby’s All Right.
Brooklyn in general you have a better chance of finding more niche parties than Manhattan (which is top 40 central ). Didnt go but years ago i saw an ad for an Odd Future party lol I know it must’ve smelled crazy in there.
Also follow @chaowilliams on ig, he’s always talking bout what events are happening during the weekend, which then i go to those pages and see who’s playing or what music is playing (e.g. i like dancehall parties so if that’s the vibe im going)
Hope that helps.
Also @AmoryBlain right about seeing where your friends (who u hope have similar music tastes) go to
It sucks when you’re the friend that goes out, so you gotta be the one niggas depend on
How do I find out about them
Fashion Week
Meet some ppl, there’s always after parties

May or may not have crossed paths
I dont go as much as I did pre-pandemic because the s***’s gotten so crowded you can barely have room to even dance these days in there.
There is no such thing as ktt core
I mean i wouldnt wanna go to a party dictated by what ktt likes
But South House ( @op follow that immediately, a monthly party event that plays exclusively southern hip hop and R&B old and new) played some WLR once
