Wow what a set. I’m tired af heading to work, but it was worth it

wasn't live-streamed and there was glaring issues like in crack rock, synth on white ferrari

it was a great set outside of the problems, but the reasons why ppl were angry/dissapointed is valid

must be early as s***e but

Add those up with the Child skit and the 2 minutes of dead air in between every single song that's close to 30 minutes

There was absolutely no momentum in that performance. It makes sense that some people on stream enjoyed it because you can just scroll through your phone quick during any dead spot, but being in the crowd everyone was on pins and needles the whole time

Bad Religion and White Ferreri sounded amazing though

Oh totally and I think that's what makes the performance so frustrating. When it was good it was as good as live music can get, but there was so much other stuff dragging it down

again like I really want to be charitable to your point of view but you make it impossible when you make up so much s***. I don’t remember any of that so I double checked and only like in between 2 songs were there actually long breaks. Come on world, crack rock, impietas/deathwish, bad religion had basically no breaks in between

Bad religion to white Ferrari was less than a minute, that was one of the longer waits of the night lol.

Then he went straight from white Ferrari into Florida then into talking to the audience then to pink+white

In between pink+white and solo there was about 20 seconds of silence. After solo reprise he went straight to Chanel. In between Godspeed and new wiseman there was about 6 seconds

End of wiseman to nightlife about 40 seconds. End of nightlife to self control about 50 seconds

There were almost no songs with 2 minute breaks so you can’t just be like oh yeah that’s 30 minutes like you’re just gaslighting yourself at this point

Rosalia set was unmatched

damn i didnt know peso pluma had a set

the skrillex fred and four tet set was so crazyyyy

started an hour late

the visuals started for like 5 mins before any music was played (a lot of youtube rips of the set conveniently miss this part)

awkward transitions to some songs (ex novacane -> novacane remix)

guy doing karaoke of some of the songs people wanted to see the most

no cohesion

that being said, i enjoyed seeing the songs i really wanted to see live, and done well (white ferrari, self control, bad religion etc). was definitely more mad when i was in the crowd but now it’s whatever.

Overall another amazing year, they still have a bit of catching up to get to how smooth the fest was operating pre pandemic but for the most part there weren't many glaring problems.

They were cool and knew all the words but it wasn't too full for a Sahara set. His stage setup was dope but damn he relied on the backing vocals so much I felt he wasn't doing anything half the time haha

I’ll never understand why most people don’t mind the loud backing vocals
