First cod I’ve played since MW2. Gameplay is solid, guns feel good, and maps aren’t terrible. With so many heavy hitters dropping I won’t feel like wasting time grinding this and I’m pretty much over cod these days
Cod would benefit from taking 2 years off from releasing and really reevaluate the franchise

Didn’t they say that was the plan a few years ago just to drop anyways

To be fair MW4 was already deep in development when this was said
cods identity is truly lost
theyre just throwing anything at the to see what sticks
goat map back
F*** these games now, but this is prob the best Shipment design in nearly 20 years
goat map back
daring today aren't we

Can’t be worse than BO7 literally copying parkour from MW3 lol
Pitch me your perfect CoD game. Something that would excite you and save the franchise
Pitch me your perfect CoD game. Something that would excite you and save the franchise
The perfect Call of Duty would take the grounded intensity of Modern Warfare, the memorable characters and set pieces of the original MW trilogy, and the replayability of peak Black Ops multiplayer—without turning into a storefront disguised as a shooter.
Campaign — Call of Duty: Shadow War
A 10–12 hour globe-spanning military thriller set in the near future, but grounded in believable weapons and technology. A coordinated series of assassinations, cyberattacks, proxy wars, and false-flag operations begins pushing NATO, Russia, and China toward direct conflict. You play as four characters whose stories eventually collide: a Tier One operator hunting the organization responsible, an intelligence officer uncovering the conspiracy, a conventional infantry soldier trapped in an escalating war, and an enemy operative who slowly realizes their own side is being manipulated.
The campaign constantly changes scale: stealth infiltration in a rain-soaked European city, a huge combined-arms battle with tanks and helicopters, clearing apartment buildings room by room, escaping a collapsing embassy, sniping across a frozen mountain valley, infiltrating a cargo ship during a storm, and eventually fighting through a city as two major militaries clash around you.
But the centerpiece is the story. Give us a genuinely great squad that players become attached to, quieter moments between missions, villains with understandable motivations, major character deaths that aren't cheap shock value, and several choices that subtly alter later missions. The finale reveals that stopping the conspiracy doesn't magically fix the geopolitical damage already done—leaving the ending victorious, but uneasy.
Multiplayer
Return to the philosophy of “easy to understand, incredibly hard to master.” Excellent gunfeel, fast movement without ridiculous superhero mobility, strong audio, readable maps, and very little randomness.
Launch with 16 genuinely handcrafted 6v6 maps, not gigantic Warzone locations chopped into rectangles. Maps should have recognizable identities—airport, snowbound military base, flooded downtown, suburban neighborhood, oil refinery, jungle communications station, luxury hotel, etc.—with mostly classic three-lane principles but enough verticality and alternate routes to avoid feeling formulaic.
Bring back prestige, meaningful challenges, unlockable calling cards/emblems, weapon mastery camos, theater mode, custom games, ranked play, Gunfight, Search & Destroy, Domination, Hardpoint, Headquarters, Kill Confirmed and classic party modes.
Create-a-Class combines Pick 10 philosophy with Gunsmith: deep weapon customization, but every attachment/perk/equipment choice has an opportunity cost. Killstreaks are powerful and fun without completely destroying matches.
And most importantly: no annual reset mentality. Support it for several years with new maps, weapons and modes. Cosmetics can exist, but military operators remain visually coherent. No Nicki Minaj fighting a glowing skeleton while someone dressed as a banana shoots lasers.
Basically: a serious military action blockbuster in campaign, an addictive competitive arcade shooter in multiplayer, and enough personality that ten years later people still remember its maps, missions, characters, and guns.
It's not hard

campaign need more normal soldier mission like marines in cod4 and rangers in mw2
