Earlier I amended and said he indeed took production risks on the album, as many as Drake did, but it didn't feel like there was much on the line or much jeopardy in making the album as a whole, I shouldn't have put the "no risks" onto him though when it's not true
thematically and lyrically Kendrick puts himself up for so much more genuine scrutiny on Mr Morale other than "This guy is boring and old", "He should use other producers" or "Let the kids have fun", I would like to see open and honest expression from both Cole and Drake, which to me is more important than production, that's not a sentiment shared amongst many on this site
I don't think this can be put on cole tbh. Cole has done that quite often and has gotten the similar vein of criticism that kendrick has.
Making a central theme of Kod about addictions, especially d*** addictions during that soundcloud era is hella risky.
Even that song towards noname was risky in the same sense

Ok fair enough I apologize for the tone there it wasn’t called for
If I’m Schoolboy Q and TDE right now I’m in absolute shambles and calling Ibrahim immediately. Q had a nice rollout going
Might Delete Later the new Any Given Sunday, he’s about to do a whole rollout of these
😂
Braindead take cole took more chances than both honestly but people just don’t like his style or find it boring. He did an anti d*** album while creating a Quasimoto esque alter ego that also sings, and a jazz rap album from the perspective of a video tape. While producing his own s*** which people want to belittle but he has had many different production sounds. What do you want
They want him rapping like Carti and thug which he’ll probably give in to
Album dropping March 16 should be in title
What?? Where did he say that?
Is it me or does it feel like J Cole has been teasing the Fall Off for 3 years now
Has he not?
This is heat
6 years apparently.
It will be 8 years this year. False prophets and everybody dies from 2016 were supposed to be the first 2 singles. He’s been working on it since before he started KOD and during 4 your eyez only
“AWGE styled video” in the title when multiple folks in the video make reference to SMACK DVD multiple times just goes to show this forum’s demographic. lol
Reminds me of that “guy who hasn’t seen any other movie than Boss Baby” tweet
Man everytime I get hyped for a cole album before it drops I end up listening and thinking it's ok then never relistening to it again
I'll say this much.
He's probably the most original poster on here.
Even when I disagree with 2words on something, I know it's just his raw opinion and not something said for likes or cosigning someone else's opinion.
Bro even said he felt Untitled by Nas had a more grounded concept than TPAB at one point. Ain't nobody from KTT saying s*** like that.
