Communist societies are all about social and economic equality. The idea that under capitalism social and economic hierarchy is intrinsic to society is a core belief of communism. This manifests as the desire to essentially persecute the white male ruling class for their historical and modern day wrongdoings, while championing the victimized minority groups. This is what the modern social justice movement is. It is steeped in leftist ideology which has many parallels with communism regardless of whether or not this is done intentionally

Yea I don't believe everything he says. I know a decent amount of history and there are times where he blatantly lies or mischaracterizes something, usually because he's avoiding saying something negative about America or Republicans.

I don't share his social or political views but I do think he knows a lot of real history and he sometimes makes good points. Ultimately it's all food for thought.

I admittedly don't know a whole lot about communism as a philosophy but I do know the history of communism and capitalism and how they fought for decades, the school of the America's and the kgb, fighting proxy wars using political parties

Altist does not promulgate right wing social policies like abortion or gay marriage and tbh my main issue with Republicans is their social stances, so as long as he doesn't say some actually racist s*** I'm probably gonna keep watching

Everything you said has nothing to do with communism. You're getting caught up in the lib "socialist" twitter nonsense. It worth looking into real communist history, not whats currently going on in the west.

Marxism states that the history of human society is advanced through class struggle.
In ancient slaves societies it was the slave owner and master
Feudalism you had the serfs, peasants and lords
Capitalism you saw the proletariat and bourgeoisie

Each lower stage advanced to the higher stage as the modes of production grew higher and more advanced, the contradictions between the ruling class and the exploited class grew so sharp that the only resolve would be expressed through violence (revolution).
Because capitalism has its roots in the Industrial Revolution which began in Europe, most European powers began to develop into advanced capitalist nations and we see as its capitalism reached a higher and higher stage, the resources needed to maintain and fuel this was expressed in colonialism throughout the 19th and 20th century. Mainly in large parts of Africa, Asia, and South America.

That is why today socialists are so critical of European imperialism and its main benefactors, Europeans.

No society regardless of ideology has been free from this. The advanced from feudalism to capitalism wasn’t a peaceful process either, it was marked by violent revolutions as uprisings (American and French for example)

This is how communism makes people think, it turns everyone into one big mob who are truly motivated by the same selfish interests of people under a capitalist regime. Except now because everything is in the interest of "the people", it incentivizes a different form of selfishness, where the social/political elite (no not the rich or the ruling class necessarily,generally just those who are in the majority demographic) are more or less gods among men, and anyone who doesnt fit this particular archetype are hunted to death or enslaved. Its a breeding ground for facism and nationalism. 2 ideologies proven to lead to a lot of bullshit
