By candlelight my hand will write these rhymes 'til I'm burnt out
Mostly from experience, s*** that I learned about
Topics and views, generally concerned about
With different ways to come up and earn clout
I take a look at my life and pace the trails
From Tablik and savage females with fake nails to face veils
You out your frame but still bagging 'em too
You know I know, these hoes be asking me if I'm you
Like my twin brother, we did everything together
From hundred raka'at salats to copping butter leathers
Remember when you went and got the dark blue Ballys
I had all the different color Cazals and Gazelles
The "SUBROC" three-finger ring with the ruby in the "O", ock
Truly the illest dynamic duo on the whole block
I keep a flick of you with the machete sword in your hand
Everything is going according to plan man
was listening to KMD all day yesterday and had to rly dig to find some credits for who produced what on Black B******s (you only find some for select songs on the Ruffs+Rares EP and the Best Of). I was surprised that some of the most impressive productions are solo Subroc beats... including the intro, Get-U-Now, Sweet Premium Wine. Most of them they prolly did together, obviously such a brilliant team too... Damn shame he died, would be wild to imagine how Subroc would have evolved as a producer along with his brother.
And DOOM's son died with 14 too
and not even he was allowed to live to 50. There was def some kind of curse on this family's health smh
I'm not really on social media like that so I don't really have a place to post a tribute.
DOOM has been my favorite rapper forever. I remember spending countless hours driving around the city looking for hard copies of his s*** at different record stores back in the day.
I've been privileged to see him live a few of times, and I'm pretty sure I even had the the pleasure of being scammed by one of his now legendary "DOOM bot" shows.
This one really stings. Even though I've probably put in a thousand hours listening to DOOM over the years, I haven't even mustered the courage to start that ceremonial discography play through because I know I'm going to get emotional. Soon though. Maybe today.
The super villain, but a hero to me.
Rest is paradise DOOM.
Pretty sure I got scammed in London, 2011. Loved every second.

Get-U-Now is such a crazy beat. idk how that bassline works but it does. Relistening to Bl_ck B_st_rds right now

that bassline is fkn brilliance, generally such a great album
legit think it's up there with some of the best rap albums of the 90s and it def got a spot in my top 5 DOOM albums too, some days even top 3 after Geedorah and Madvillain? Tho I'll admit lyrically he got way better once he became MF DOOM, it's more about the beats for me. But stuff like "Gimme" is just magic.
Btw also found a pretty good read yesterday with Dante Ross who worked on the label and also got production credits on Mr. Hood - shows that DOOM being dropped from Electra wasn't quite as heartless as it sounds and he even took it kinda positively (tho who knows how bitter he really was). He did get the masters for Bl_ck B_st_rds back for free plus a couple thousand compensation which is hard to complain about tbh

yo idk if its that funny but when I saw every album on DOOM's website sold out except nehruviandoom
Nah you know what guys? I never thought these news would hit me as much as they did. I never felt like this after an artist passed away. I'm so f***ing sad man. I realized how much of an influence DOOM was to me. I don't know if I would've developed such passion for music if it wasn't for him. Madvillainy is my single favorite album of all time and I'll never forget the first time I've listened to it as a kid. Two months ago I put one of my friends on DOOM cause he never heard of him and we spent the rest of the evening watching check the rhymes videos and s***. One of my absolute favorite rappers ever.
I know it all sounds cheesy and I might get clowned for it but idec. Thank you DOOM, all caps. May your soul rest in peace.
RAP SNITCHES TELLIN ALL DEY BIDNESS
Sit in the court and be their own star witness
Do you see the perpetrator?
Yeah I'm right here
F*** around and get the whole label sent up for years

I tried to distract myself since I heard the news, spent some time with my s/o, anything just to get off the internet and not be constantly reminded about it. think I spent like an hour on twitter when it all broke. its so exhausting and whenever im alone with the though of him gone I just tear up. its INSANE how much he influenced me as I go down the memory lane picking out everything, from styling clothes to music taste, that I got from the guy. gonna sound crazy but I think I didn't grieve for some of my dead relatives the way I grieve for DOOM. got so much thoughts ive been getting out of my system but still feels surreal talking about it right now and not 10+ years later as I expected it to be
im mad rambling plus people think its weird the way im grieving over an artist like we were close. my friends for real reached out to tell me they feel for me. and the real ones are all quiet as I know theyre probs sitting with the news same as me
been thinking of doing a small tribute thing irl, gon be me and my pal producer at this guy's record store. hopefully they will be down

Underrated project 😔
