With quite a few big on sales coming up in the next few days/weeks, I thought I’d start a little thread to help navigate TM and such. Hopefully some others can chime in too.

I used to get “Verified” for every show I requested. That shifted post-Covid. Now, the system seems to favor newer accounts, giving them codes since they know the established concert goers are more likely to eventually pay resale prices for the shows they want to see.

Every high-demand on sale on Ticketmaster starts off with a queue. Unless 90% of everyone else trying for tickets suddenly loses power, you will likely start off with “2000+” in front of you. There’s a little cheat code where you can see how many are actually ahead of you… I need to dig for that post on one of the Bruce Springsteen forums, it’s really helped over the years.

Once you get in, assuming there are tickets left… DO NOT try to buy from the map. You are wasting your time. There will be a “list” on the side of the screen, just keep clicking on whatever seats pop up there at your desired price level.

Don’t want this post to go too long, I’ll add more later. Just remember that buying resale the day tickets go on sale is always a rip off. You’re just paying for peace of mind, essentially. Unless the show is a last minute pop up show, or Taylor Swift… tickets will always be released for face value on Ticketmaster as the event approaches and the artist releases tickets that were held back for their crew or for production purposes. Just keep checking whenever you can.

And in my opinion, scalping tickets is lame as f*** UNLESS you have tickets for a hot event and you can no longer attend aaand you need the money. Otherwise get a job. Brokers are miles ahead of you with bots, fake accounts, and tons of cash to spend on 20-30 tickets at a time. Reselling 2 tickets for one concert every few months is some JV s***. The reason it isn’t illegal is because their lobby is so wealthy and powerful.
