I’m attending a two day convention with two live concerts each evening with bands from a mobile app and I just wanted to talk about the first day experience. My friends and I drove down seven hours to Anaheim on Friday and we slept for about at hour and then we got in line at the convention center around 3ish in the morning after walking around for thirty minutes.

From 3-4AM a large group of con-goers started to form and tried organizing to make things simple but security kept telling us to scramble and come back when we are actually allowed to line up at 5AM, we dispersed and turned into a big group like three times before security finally let us line alone the convention halls outside walls.

4-5:30AM People started running and some got trampled in the entire mess just to try and get a good spot in line because it was necessary in order to get autograph tickets and concert seats by purchasing a certain amount of merch. Somewhere along the wait it began raining and they started letting us inside.

5:30-8:30AM We stood in this giant line that stretched out twice in the convention center and it continued to go outside for who knows how long. Multiple times they told us we were about to start registry and bag check so I tried not to leave to the bathroom. It was around 7:15 that I decided to go use the lavatory and my friend called me saying that the line started moving so I sprinted back to my place in line. Registry was going by fast until we finally got to the tables. There was a line leading to a chaos to two tables, security took a portion of people behind me to register through another door leading to the same table I was and they managed to go in before I do because people were just shoving there was to sign in. Finally went through bag check (which was awful) and got separated from my friends, and we were put into another long line. This line was nicer because we got tickets telling us when to go to the booth.

9AM-2PM After the disorganized entry l was able to get the merch and tickets I wanted. Got goods and two autographs from the band members. My friends and I went back to take a rest at the AirBNB before the concert at 6PM, we decieed to return at 5:20PM just incase re-entry would take a while.

5:30-5:50PM security argued with people who were trying to re-enter. Security claimed there was no re-entry at 5:30PM (nobody was told this) and that they had no one to do bag checks anymore. A huge crowd of people were pretty mad and the situation wasn’t being handled well because no one was being reasonable. Fortunately the event organizers and remaining security staff were able to get people to go back in.

6-7PM Got a really close spot seeing one of my favorite groups ever. I enjoyed the concert so much, it was incredibly worth going through all the events of today.
