The snare also doesn’t fit the vibe of the beat/track imo it makes it sound a little cheap

My first thought lmaoo. It’s a bit dull regardless, people gassed their last collab too much and got them to make this

BUT I think the entire quality of the track would be improved, raised and elevated if it had a better snare

Mannnnn Cordae needs to take some time away and really hone in on what he wants to do. This feels like another case of an artist being pushed before they've really developed all the skills they need to have to do what they wanna do.

Cordae's bragadocious bars don't hit because he doesn't have the charisma/right energy to deliver that s***. It doesn't feel authentic.

His conscious bars don't hit because he's always on some surface level s*** and doesn't really hit u with any real surprises or go too deep into any concepts. It's always some basic ass observations any smart ass 20 something year old could make. On top of that the way he says things is not super interesting anyway.

Don't like to hate on artists or anything but its clear he doesn't even have the ear/confidence to put the right s*** out yet. Not going to look for it but he tweeted that s*** awhile ago about his last album not being hot and that he's going to do better next time. At this stage of his career, with the size of his platform, he should not be so insecure with his sound/work. He should be in his prime. But he feels like he's still figuring things out as he's going along.

Why is the song called Two Tens if Paak is the only one actually talking about hooking up with a girl I like it though ngl

  • Feb 2, 2023

song is fire. one of my favorites of the year so far

  • Feb 2, 2023

Nice old school vibe. My only problem is cordae is behind the beat a lot, while paak is right on. So going back and forth just highlights it more. Good song though

not saying cordae totally fell off but something just doesn’t connect anymore. i remember after first album thinkin this was next young cat but now comes off a lil corny. ill give him one more album

it became apparently very quickly that he doesn't have anything interesting to actually say or write about. being able to rap doesnt matter if your subject matter is shallow and surface level interesting esp. if youre trying to copy like classic era hip hop where the entire point was the lyrics

yeah funny thing tho is i remember seeing him in interviews early on like he gets it and had that that mature mindset for one of the new generation rappers but yeah you're right he hasnt figured out yet how to translate that into his music without it sounding the same

This song reminds me of the Blog Era so much.

Cordae always had a huge push from the machine, he has some very real connects high up and/or did something mid extreme
