    Is an F really a 0?
Wouldn't it just mean <6/10 if you're using an Alphabetical Grading Scale?

    C+/B- would be a 6

Which is weird because 6 would be a D- to D+ IRL.
Like I said, grading albums on an alphabetical scale is stupid. It's just overcomplicating a system that already works.

not if you understand that C just means average, not the specific score on a test

    ?

    C means average b. i.e. 5/10

tests are marked different bc the average student wouldnt only get half the questions right

S***also doesn't count if you've never had sex. Referring to anyone who uses the term "beta" or thinks JIK is above a 5.

some agreement, but it's not a far cry from a reflection of what the critic himself is doing. he points out parts of the music he finds interesting then gives it a 0 alongside general character bashing.

he calls the clipse verses "bursting into a Sunday service with Saturday’s whiskey breath", which is stupid hyperbole that is also his only sort of support for the claim that they're "out of place". he completely mischaracterizes Selah by saying that the choir is whispering "hallelujah" at the beginning, which 1) they never whisper, 2) not at the beginning. he incorrectly says that follow god uses the sample from FSMH pt. 1. he calls the idea of not using social media to be "dull" despite so many acknowledgments in society (even by people involved w/ the creation of online social media itself) that social media isn't good and many, many people are addicted to it.

hell, the line "Kanye West talks endlessly about God, and yet he musters a fraction of the enthusiasm that he used to deploy in observations about the female buttocks", while amusing if true, is an actual lie. he just didn't want to listen to songs like Selah, Closed on Sunday, or God Is with any sort of earnestness because then he might have to say something positive about them. also, is demonstrated enthusiasm the metric for believing in God? probably not.

he's coming across tone deaf because he'd rather hate kanye than listen to what kanye could possibly be saying

which is basically what these ad hominem replies are doing

    so
    seems just to me

    Nothing to do with religion

  • Oct 29, 2019

    "Jesus, flow through us
    Jesus, heal the bruises
    Jesus, clean the music
    Jesus, please use us
    Jesus, please help
    Jesus, please heal
    Jesus, please forgive
    Jesus, please reveal
    Jesus, give us strength
    Jesus, make us well
    Jesus, help us live
    Jesus, give us wealth
    Jesus is our safe
    Jesus is our rock
    Jesus, give us grace
    Jesus, keep us safe"

"vaguely religious gesturing, yea, that's it"

isn't it more effective to do what you just did, which is point out the inconsistencies of the review than flat out just insult the critics look and accomplish absolutely f***ing nothing?
