Hi, I'm getting married next year and am tasked with finding the DJ. NY/CT suburbs area.
I think I'd like to make our own playlist and ask the DJ to just play it however they want to (need their expertise to create a good vibe/song sequence), and for the most part, we want minimal interjection from the DJ in terms of speaking on the mic.
I guess I'd like to ask for a general cost that I should anticipate for a good DJ to do this job? And should I expect a cheaper price quote if we're not looking for them to be a 'personality' and frequently hop on the mic? That might be a dumb question and I'd kinda understand if it's the same price regardless. But this is why I'm asking! :)
Thanks in advance
I’ll do it for like 75 smackers hmu
I will consider almost anyone, as long as they can physically make it to the location on wedding day (May 10), and can provide me with some kind of sample/reference regarding their skills and seriousness.
Give me 2k and I’ll cook up an elite Spotify playlist

queues up “songs that get white people going” playlist during the reception with a 3 second cross fade while I play around with a turntable that’s unplugged
do you really think ktt members are wedding experts
They don't need to be wedding experts. I just thought some of them might be knowledgeable in terms of DJ stuff specifically

Based off personal experience, the quotes of my homies who got married and my DJ homies is the number I gave out
Depends if you hiring a local or a radio DJ
I'd ask a wedding planner. Not the best for cost wise but it's less fuss and that's crucial for your big day. How you been planning other stuff like catering and the PA all that?
I’d do it for a meal and a beer. I have Spotify and Apple Music. I also have a mic with an aux connection

Thankfully my girl and her mom have been handling mostly everything else with planning. I've just been tasked with finding the DJ and my own suit lol
