Saw somebody share a Tucker Carlson video on twitter and he was trying to say BLM was a political party. Not really sure what his point was, it sounded negative lol. But he was talking about how polls show BLM is now viewed more favorably than both parties, all religious institutions, and both candidates.
BLM has a platform that they push for. What if they became a political platform? Instead of making activists celebrities, they make them politicians? I guess the fear is that they would split the Democratic Party in two and would ultimately help the republicans. But idk, I’m a libertarian and agree with a lot of the stuff in the BLM platform. I’m also tired of the two party system. I’d vote for a BLM candidate before a traditional democratic candidate.
And they’ve got a huge following, if they tried for this they would quickly become the biggest third party probably ever, and would become an actual political force.
Blm has much more power as an influence over modern liberalism than as its own party, so most likely no
I feel like Black Lives Matter is more of a movement than an organization with legs. A rallying cry to fight oppression and systemic racism rather than an organization like the DSA or NAACP

Bingo

Yeah, a lot of people probably don’t even realize it is an organization and are more familiar with it as a hash tag. But I’m just thinking if they would put forward candidates for local offices as a “BLM” candidate (not just endorsed but literally as a third party), they could probably do get a lot of state positions filled.
Treating all people with fairness and respect shouldn't be a political movement
Treating all people with fairness and respect shouldn't be a political movement
BLM has specific policies they want enacted on their platform, more than just treating people with fairness
hillary clinton, the first BLM party candidate
just saying, if it became a political party, politicians and corporations would probably immediately bandwagon it and we would have a 2nd democratic party where everyone supports "wokeness" and has BLM themed logos and products
and who would stay liberal and who would become a member of a BLM party? moderate liberals stay liberal or extremist liberals stay liberal?
BLM is basically just democrats at this point anyway considering they always be donating to them
I think Black Lives Matter should move towards “Black Power” instead of just Black Lives Matter.
If can get a major corporation to put “black power” outside it’s store you’d really be accomplishing something

whoever is gonna run that party is gonna get their character assasinated with the quickness.
BLM protesters are under watch by the FBI

This is pure facts.
It already is lol whether we like it or not . none of the proceeds even goes to the black community
This would pretty much assure the GOP several elections.
They could become a party, but it doesn’t make sense when the Republicans are effectively running as the big tent right wing party. I think that Bernie’s success in moving the Dems left indicates that the best way to enact change in the 2-party system is to create change within the party.
libertarians rise up
and yes but i think it’d just end up being black democrats
Libertarians
Libertarians
calm down
i’m a libertarian but i’m for gun control and welfare
