Futurama

Cowboy Bebop is perfect and the more influential.

Futurama (especially pre-cancellation) is great though. Not peak Simpsons level, but still really good.

Futurama, longer peak and more funny.
Cowboy Bepop is good, especially because the jazzy soundtrack, but I always found it overrated.

Yep they pretty much apple and oranges but I guess you could discuss which one you prefer/which one has the highest quality.

they’re both late 90s, both scifi cartoons that take place in the distant future, both geared more towards adults, both w lasting cultural impact.

The first point is completely cap. Cowboy Bebop has had essentially no influence on the anime industry, and especially no influence on contemporary anime. It's biggest contribution to the industry was helping create a wave of new Western anime watchers during the 2000s, but its influence on the creation of anime as whole is non-existent.

No tranquility is right, cowboy bebop is iconic for introducing a lot of western fans to anime but as a whole it didnt influence much. It doesnt take away from its quality, its still one of my favorite anime

Cowboy Bebop is a sentimental fav of mine so def that

it's much more colorful and fun and literally feels like a fresh breath of air
