Any live action adaptation of an anime that isn't a realistic drama is almost always going to look a little weird unless they're throwing absurd amounts of money at it.

first images look like cosplay but it is accurate

People act like s***appeal is a bad thing. It’s intrinsic to both the stylization and cultural quirks of the country in which these sorts of series are produced. Most modern genre films are sexless and sterile anyway, so I don’t see anything wrong with that complaint.
