This whole thing started because DaBaby unprovoked was homophobic and this then lead to other black folk bringing up someone who hasn't even said anything on the subject and just minding their business saying "Oh he's allowed to be gay, why can't we be homophobic?"

The problem isn't you or anyone else going to bat, the problem is just minding your damn business or the matter of lgbtq+ if you don't want to go to bat and not using your own struggles as a black man as a shield for homophobia.

What about the discrimination that gay black man faces when walking home and being called a f**ot or sum???

Do I have to explain the social discrimination that still exists against lgbtq? (black and brown lgbtq are even more vulnerable to those issues btw)

you can be pro-black and anti homophobia/misogynie/transphobia - they aren't mutually exclusive.

I already spoke about this earlie, y’all are just putting the opinions everyone else has on this subject on me I’ve even tried to educate someone in this thread about the white gay privilege that they have over black gays//

But like I said the LGBT is THE singular most powerful movement in America right now as you can see by this response towards dababy the notion that you can eradicate homophobia out of every single individuals brain is a fairytale that will never happen so I’m just confused on what more the LGBT community is fighting for? Because I can tell you that slurs and words are the least of the things black people are fighting for

Lgbt youth has high suicide rates - to you its just "slurs and words" but to them is being excluded by society

You probably never had a proper history lesson to know words are important and especially dehumanizing words... such as using slurs...

And even then why tf are you speaking on issues you know s*** about?

Not too mention that you're outright wrong, black people have advocated to not be called slurs, it went from slurs to negro to African American in the US for example

your ignorance is showing hard and it's very sad to see brother, you're literally s***ting on the legacy of those that came before you and actually inspired change whilst you're on here using the plight as an excuse to dehumanize others

Lastly, the lgbt rights movement is important not just for Americans but also for those around the world who don't have a platform (cuz it's illegal in their country to allude to any pro-lgbt imagery, look up Russia laws on that for example)

And obviously no one wants to be called any slurs, but that’s just something that will always exist, there will always be all types of hate in the world

The main fight of any oppressed group should be to eradicate any official systems and laws that oppress them which the LGBT community has made great progress in

My little brother is black and gay so I’m only speaking on what I know I haven’t said anything ignorant I’m American so I actually don’t know the fight of others around the world so I won’t speak on that

Do you understand that the CIA backs the LGBT movement whereas government agencies were monitoring the BLM groups for domestic terrorism?

It’s just human nature if everyone else gets their agendas fulfilled and you don’t there will be slight resentment this does not equate to me saying it’s ok to be homophobic I’m just saying don’t be surprised when there’s pushback over some words that a rapper said when black people cant even get a bill passed to end qualified immunity for police when they are killing us

Within hip hop culture, it’s disingenuous and hypocritical to take such an adamant stance on this and then simultaneously not have any moral urgency on the overwhelming content that should be deemed as wrong. If we’re talking right or wrong, it doesn’t make sense. Hip-Hop is very brash and offensive by nature. I’m not going to say how dare dababy say this, when I haven’t taken any stance on him having a lot of lyrics that if you apply the same logic to, you should have equal outrage. S*** is dumb lol.
