I love ambient sound collage hypnagogic experimental stuff but you’re acting like niggas have to be f***ing Boris to make worthwhile rock music

Critiquing the music for being diatonic is the most try hard s*** ive seen, like nigga what are you serious, u just tryna sound smart rn

At least talk about how sample heavy some of the parts if u wanna say it’s boring, the production is solid the arrangements are solid, there’s really unique and great sounding moments. His last album has had offensively inoffensive pop music in it (that one song that was in Kia commercial) but there was more than enough interesting s*** going on to not warrant such a write off.

I’m 100% with you on the white people thing, i wa gonna comment more on it but didn’t wanna get too personal and make bold assumptions about a stranger.

But I feel like he never grew out of a complex that some black art kids grew up in. You hit the nail on the head with the lack of awareness and having his white friends blow up his ego. I used to do noise sets in undergrad with all that brash ethos of “disrupting white heteronormative spaces”

What i learned from those experiences is that i often was fighting no one but myself. NYC is a very racist place with redlining as bad as some other cities that are notorious for the practice.

Yves gives me the impression, like u said, he has a distorted sense of reality from the 24/7 label funded performance he’s been on for the pat 5/6 years.

While i appreciate the sentiment of trolling a Swedish House Mafia, he doesn’t have the maturity (at his growing age) to let bygones be bygones. F*** those crackers, but you have to find a sense of peace within yourself. Destroying the green room because everyone boo’d you off your noise sets is like beginning of your career s***

I had to realize i can’t be a disruptor and want to reap the fruits of a “normative” life. I think at some point its all gonna catch up to him and he has to accept if he wants to be this iggy pop character forever or grow up a little bit and enjoy the respect he gets from more artistic spaces.

Yeah, I agree with this. I actually feel bad for him, this seemed pretty traumatizing from what I see. There have been a few instances in his career that have not gone as planned like this. Hope he's good though. I do think he also needs to be more mature in certain situations.

EDM concerts in NYC are full of crackers, i think there’s something about the current state of late stage capitalism that attracts some of the worst crackers ive ever seen at these kinda shows

It def was traumatizing and i feel bad for him, but at the same time, its like u said, nigga probably feel like god around some other kinda yt ppl. U get around real racists and u realize the world is much different place…

the album that came after that i don't even remember the name was basically them shedding everything that made the project interesting. every song i've heard from them since is just diatonic boring glam rock worship literally just being held up by that same cyber goth avant garde newyork arca ripoff body horror visual aesthetic they got going on. boring music in an interesting package basically whereas once it was both. turns out all you need to do to get people to listen to extremely conventional music is by presenting it as something boundary pushing so they can feel smarter about listening to soft rock with s*** vocals. crazy how they still get the acclaim they get despite this
