Writing alone don’t make you best rapper tho

True, but imo he kills Jay in that category

I agree. And I would say there are a number of rappers who have always killed Jay in that category.

But once you consider cadences, flows, delivery, versatility in styles and flows, catchiness, etc there really nobody doing it like Jay rn (I would argue across history, only like Andre 3k and Mos Def are at Jay's level). I would say Future is the #2 overall rapper currently based on all those aspects as well.

  • Ive listened to that album so many times

No doubt. I mean I would argue Roc Marci is a better rapper in every way than Jay, and probably Mach too, but that’s probably an unpopular opinion.

Mos Def is a good shout. I’d probably also include Kendrick tbh

Honestly Navy Blue can be argued as being Ka level if not even better

I can see a lot of writers surpassing KA later on (for my money Earl, Medhane, MIKE and Navy Blue can easily create something out of this world in their 40s if they keep doing music in their later years) but for now KA is at his best s*** with others still striving for his highs. old pens are not that easy to top, especially when it comes to the absolute elite (mach, billy woods, KA)

It's kinda crazy that since 2016 Jay and Nas been going back and forth dropping verses of the year almost every year if we actually look at them details

Still among the best rappers in the world

Rap isn't some sport that requires Godlike athleticism, they can proceed to drop classics well into their 50's

Whats your fav Roc Marci projects? Tbh I haven't listened to alot of his stuff and what I've heard I liked but wasn't like super impressed.

Mach a good inclusion as well. Loved Bulletproof Luh and that wap kon joj ep.

waiting on what Kendrick got for us in 2020, but yeah he is probably going to go down top 10 oat.

Behold a Dark Horse is my fav but Roc Reloaded, RR2: The Bitter Dose, Marcberg, Marci Beaucoup, and Marcielago are his fan favs. He forefathered the Griselda/Mach Hommy sound since 2010. He brought the crazy loops with no drums and took off wit Alchemist

No doubt about Kendrick. And for Roc, my favorites are Reloaded, Rosebudd’s Revenge, and Marcielago. Literally ever project is fire tho. And he’s one of the most slept on producers of all time too because his pen is so nice.

Yeah Mach is wild too. So many underground classics

Even if you don't really f*** with Jay Elec's debut album like that, its pretty much impossible to argue that Jay Z did not body every instrumental and display that there isn't a single young rapper alive who could go bar for bar with him even though hes damn near 50.

I ain't even a Jay Z stan but honestly the longevity he has displayed is unprecedented in rap history.

    this is a fact

Lol at folks saying it sounded like a Jay-Z album featuring Jay Elect. The whole tone and topics of the album comes from Jay Elect and fit his loosies the past decade. Hov had 25 years to make an album with this very specific tone and never did. He needed Jay Electronica to set the scene. No shade

who raised these dudes....either he never heard Biggie or doesn't know what he listening to

Pac would be acting more than rapping but he'd still be great with music. Probably would've ventured into a bunch of different genres

You right and people stay missing the point. Also why it's stupid to even out them against eachother on the record. They both uplifting something greater than themselves.
