Anyone can make any set of data say any sort of result lol. To reach a conclusion that's worth something, you need to sort out a sample that's representative of the population as a whole and you need to set out a way to accurately mesure the value of the variables.
Labels use facebook data sure but they also use what you call "professional statisticians" to sort out the data and to come up with conclusions that are worthwhile lol
