60s d*** culture
1910 through the roaring 20’s fashion norms ( think of people walking around like everyone had access to the same garments and tailoring the boardwalk empire cast had - i love three piece suits )
50s sports heroes ; i’d give anything to see Mickey Mantle , Willie Mays , Wilt Chamberlain , Johnny Unitas , Maurice Richard , etc. on Sportscenter , and with modern medicine and fitness / training / nutritional regimens … this may also have been the best time to get a hamburger from McDonald’s and fried chicken from colonel sanders
90s rap : a lot of the music from this era does not hold up against the test of time the way a lot of people think it does , but I would have loved for prime jay and nas plus pac , biggie , and niggas like tommy wright the 3rd ( a beautiful man for which no current comparisons can feasibly illustrate just how much a modern audience would appreciate an artist like him ) to be the muse for producers to work off of and set a lyrical standard that would elevate the level of competency expected from the young niggas of today
And then I’m not sure where to pinpoint a precise time for this aspect of my ideal society , but I guess I would just say that the class consciousness , togetherness , and collective attitude regarding black people supporting black businesses and really just any efforts designed to lift the spirits and improve life from an economic / political / social perspective for the black community as a whole were all at a peak in the days following what were , realistically speaking , almost completely imperceptible , yet still tangibly present nonetheless , changes to the enforcement of Jim crow , but before integration and other questions of racial equality and the various groups under the umbrella of civil rights became the primary concern of the federal government

in terms of America
early 2000s pop and rock music
wouldn't change much in current rap except make rappers, even gangster rappers a bit more conscious of their impact and influence over young people. Hopefully less overdoses, murders, and prison stints among successful American rappers.
musically the model would be a perpetual mix of the 2000s transition to digital from physical. There would still be a fairly large market for physical because in this Utopian society, most people value ownership more than unlimited access. there would be a smaller emphasis on streaming because most people would still purchase music whether digitally or physically. In my mind it's sort of like the Apple Watch is today, certain people would pay that much just to have access to every single album and song, but it would be a relatively niche thing to pay for a music streaming service. Soundcloud would have had a short run but fail once they tried to monetize it and do SoundCloud plus. people would value an album way more than today.
civil rights activism by minorities on the same level as in the 1960s and 1970s, effective long term protests and strikes that hit corporations in their pockets
2010s d*** culture because I don't enjoy the fact that until about the 90s people were smoking everywhere
and there wasn't fentanyl everywhere. streets would still have Wock and real Adderall.
the ideal utopia still has conflict but more economic than with weapons
my ideal utopia has the United States in a sort of space race 2.0 but racing other countries like Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and Iran to fix the climate and alternatively see if there is a way for humans to live somewhere else, like Mars.
Economically and socially this would be a big positive factor for the U.S because instead of spending trillions on defense spending each year, trillions more would be put into education and climate change awareness. United States wouldn't be one of the worst in the world in things like Geography and Math.
1940s ww2 type of propaganda posters against government spying on people using technology. Majority of eligible Americans would actually vote in both local and national elections.
1980s sports culture. collectible cards. controversial insider betting. rampant doping in all sports, ranging from Football to Baseball to the NBA. You'd have a few elite players that would still be clean, I don't imagine someone like Stephen Curry, Travis Kelce, Ronda Rousey really going out and using PEDs but the majority of the nation's sports leagues would turn a blind eye to it. would be far less common for athletes to get sidelined for months from an injury.
Companies would get large tax incentives for making the necessary changes in minimizing their carbon footprint and harmful emissions index every year, and eventually there would be more hybrid and full electric vehicles on the road than petroleum engine vehicles. the main uses of petroleum would be in airplanes, helicopters, and military vehicles that could not quickly make the transition to electric.

the roaring 20's aesthetic is actually hard as f***
just looking luxurious as hell, for no reason

what does this even mean
define tolerate in your view. Cuz Jim Crow was still running rampant until the 60s ofc
Lynching was also a huge problem
Should’ve said anytime that black people weren’t in literal chains
"a lot of the music from this era does not hold up against the test of time the way a lot of people think it does"
If most or a lot of people think it does then that should mean it does lol.
That part was so unnecessary - the general consensus on something subjective is considered to be everyday in general truth
So it does hold up for most people regardless. of what you may think & vice versa
That is is a very white utopia
so you really think the average white persons dream society involves a strong , vibrant , powerful , and as a result of the combination of those factors , potentially vindictive black community ?
what does the third version , or edition if you will , of memphis niggas named tommy wright have to do with white people ?

i don’t think your logic checks out here , because let’s say you have a town of 200k people , and half of them vote on some sort of school board measure . If 33k people vote yay , 29k vote nay , and the rest write down that they are abstaining on their ballot, is it not fair to say that a lot of people voted no , even tho the people who voted no do not constitute a majority in this scenario ? I mean 29k people is a lot of people , relatively speaking ;
It’s also quite nonsensical to sandwich the concept of subjective matters in between a sentence about people reaching a consensus and “ general truths “ - is there really such a thing in music ?
