man just loves the game and doesn't care where he plays it. Gotta respect that.

Just woke up and still feel so disappointed about this. Ronaldo was always my personal GOAT. He was the player i used to imitate when i played football. End of an era really.
Some are saying that Piers Morgan interview really burned the bridges to top clubs in Europe and I think there might be some truth to it. There is no way Ronaldo could not be at Serie A when players that are even older and more rusted can play at top clubs there.

He was offered to teams in the Summer and they all said no. I don't think the Piers interview did as much damage as people think it did. Just make him look like an a******.

True. I think that the problem just comes from Ronaldo demanding a salary that’s way to high for his capability atm. Then he started throwing fits at ManU and did the Piers interview which pushed clubs even further away. Realistically, i think that Ronaldo can still perform at the level of a Dzeko or Giroud but he is way too obsessed with breaking records and trying to be in front of Messi which is why he went the easy route.

I don't think wages had anything to do with it either. If Bayern or PSG wanted him, or even a smaller CL team like Leipzig wanted him, I think he would've taken a wage hit no problem (he would've had to taken a significant wage decrease for some teams.) Cuz as you said, chasing and/or building on records is something he's obsessed with. But when it became obvious that no CL teams were calling, the choice between going to Saudi to make ungodly money while playing weaker competition or staying in and floundering in Europe, trying to find a mid/low table team, became pretty obvious.
I’m not a businessman, I’m a business, man
I admit it CR7 got the Instagram D'Or s*** on lock
