Why lock a thread when you can mute a user?

If they arent going against the “terms & conditions” should it be grounds for a lock?

I’m genuinely asking so none of my future threads end up locked

Why on earth would you rather be completely silenced rather than just have a thread locked and continue posting somewhere else? Lol
